Don't miss an evening at @modernartoxford of art, music and conversation celebrating the Platform Graduate Award! Thursday 23rd October, 6.30-10pm LIVE x Platform presents performances, talks, workshops and music to celebrate the Platform Graduate Award exhibition, This is Really Happening, which features new work by recent Ruskin graduate Ella Soni. Also, catch new performances by Ella Soni and Jarad Jackson (Ruskin BFA 2025) during the event: Jarad Jackson will perform a work titled FINALE. This is the debut of a new performance in tribute to Vaslav Nijinsky (1889-1950), the star of Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes. In FINALE, Jackson rewrites Nijinsky’s iconic role as the ‘rose’ in Le Spectre de la rose to commemorate a legendary dancer whose spellbinding talent ended with tragedy. Join Jackson as he performs unfiltered meditations on queerness, sensitivity and sexuality through his personal history as a ballet dancer and the spirit of Nijinsky. @wepty Ella Soni (BFA 2025) will perform Worldstar Dream Club in the duo Animal Dreams. The joint practice of Ella Soni and Martha Lowres, they use the conceptual structure of a band – one built on the collaborative foundations of shared labor and friendship – and work together to produce drawings, sculpture, costume, writing, sound, performance and film. Worldstar Dream Club is a performance of imitation. To imitate the band, to mime its lyrics. Taking further their relationship with films as source material, Animal Dreams will deliver a live event at Modern Art Oxford based in music, choreographed movement and play. @ellasoni_ @animaldreamsofficial Please visit modernartoxford.org.uk for more info and tickets. 1. FINALE by Jarad Jackson, artwork by Maisie Goodfellow 2. Animal Dreams (Ella Soni and Martha Lowres)
