Repost • @helsinkibiennial Every edition of Helsinki Biennial expands the art collection that belongs to all residents of Helsinki 💚 From Helsinki Biennial 2025, glass flowers and a soundscape included in Norwegian artist duo LOCUS / Thale Blix Fastvold & Tanja Thorjussen’s work have been acquired to the art collection of the City of Helsinki. Zostera Marina’s song of increase is dedicated to a species of seagrass native to the Baltic Sea: common eelgrass (Zostera marina). In this project, the artists envisage a hopeful, speculative, utopian future for common eelgrass, which they imagine as blooming and thriving in the Baltic Sea. *** Jokainen Helsinki Biennaali jättää jälkensä kaikkien helsinkiläisten omaan taidekokoelmaan 💚 Vuoden 2025 Helsinki Biennaalista kaupungin taidekokoelmaan on hankittu norjalaisen taiteilijaduon LOCUS / Thale Blix Fastvold & Tanja Thorjussenin teoskokonaisuuteen Zostera Marinan kasvun laulu kuuluneet lasikukinnot ja äänimaisema. 📸 LOCUS / Tanja Thorjussen & Thale Blix Fastfold: Zostera Marina’s song of increase / Zostera Marinan kasvun laulu, 2025 (details/yksityiskohdat). DISENTANGLING PATRIARCHY !!BECAUSE IT’S ALL CONNECTED!!!! AUTHORITARIANISM, THE WAR ECONOMY, THE CLIMATE CRISIS, GENDER VIOLENCE , LGBTQ RIGHTS , ICE, WHITE CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM , THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX !!ANOTHER WAY IS POSSIBLE !!A society not structured on DOMINATION and HIERARCHIES but on CARE, COMPASSION and EQUALITY FOR ALL !! If we do not address climate change, the world as we know it will end. The global rise of fascism threatens hard-earned victories for equity in race, gender, and sexual orientation. Staggering wealth inequality ensures that ruling elites will continue to manipulate the state for their own benefit. The patriarchal promise of rule by the strong and eternal expansion and ‘progress’ is at an end. !! We need to do something now. We need a radical shift from a dominating, exploitative, patriarchal structured society to an egalitarian, nonhierarchical society based on shared values of respect, community, connectedness, compassion, and reciprocity. Over the past five years, my work has focused on mapping and unsettling the interlocking systems that sustain patriarchal domination–systems that also underwrite militarism, state violence, extractive capitalism, and the erosion of democratic rights. Disentanglement/Re-Embodiment my new artist’s book/ monograph gathers this research and artistic practice into a single, stand-alone book. Between 2021-2025, components of the project have been presented at Mildred’s Lane, The Mildred Complex(ity), Morbid Anatomy, Kunstnernes Hus, Limbo Festival, Arcane Space, the Francis Kite Club, and the Matriarchy for the Future Festival–venues committed to critical discourse, experimental practice, and politically engaged art.!! Link in bio to purchase book @arcanabooks !! Thank you to everyone who collaborated on this multi year project !! I do have hope -there is another way !!Book Design by @jeffreyjenkinsprojects Edited by @infowarzz with @annabel_renshaw @mildredslane @limbo.festival @franciskiteclub @livia__reiner @babyluvah @dancingclay @serpentaplume_ @morbidanatomy

Please join me for the official launch of: Disentanglement/Re-Embodiment An Artist’s Book by Jill Goldman In Conversation with Nina Menkes Saturday February 21, 2026 4–6 PM Arcana: Books on the Arts 8675 Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA “The system of patriarchy is a historic construct; it has a beginning; it will have an end. Its time seems to have nearly run its course–it no longer serves the needs of men and women, and its intractable linkage to militarism, hierarchy, and racism has threatened the very existence of life on Earth.” — Gerda Lerner, The Creation of Patriarchy Disentanglement/Re-Embodiment is a full-color monograph by artist, activist, and filmmaker Jill Goldman, capturing five years of bold, deeply embodied work at the edge of art and politics. Developed between 2020 and 2025, the research based project spans video, performance, photography, and installation, unfolding in a single, cohesive publication that investigates how we live inside of–and push back against–patriarchal power and environmental crisis. The book weaves over 200 images–performance documentation, film stills, research ephemera, and installation views. The book features essays and interview extracts with feminist scholars and public figures contextualizing Goldman’s inquiry within broader conversations on global gender equality, abolitionism, and spirituality. Positioned at the intersection of contemporary art, feminist theory, and political activism, Disentanglement/Re-Embodiment functions both as an artist’s monograph and as a research compendium–a sourcebook on the politics of resistance and collective care. JIll Goldman will be in conversation with Nina Menkes. Nina is one of America’s foremost independent filmmakers whose work has shown widely in major international film festivals. She was described by the New York Times as a “Cinematic Sorceress” and by the Los Angeles Times as “A visionary… who always gets it right”. This book is 5 years in the making and unfortunately even more relevant today as we face unprecedented global catastrophes !! I do have hope -there is another way !!Book Design by @jeffreyjenkinsprojects Edited by @infowarzz with @annabel_renshaw
