Took my time getting around to this post, as it’s taken me a while to come down from the high of last night’s @pindropevents 173rd show.

To think that at 7pm on 6th October, we had no venue and only 11 advance ticket sales. It wasn’t looking good! But thanks to my friends and the community in #Saltburn, we found a venue within hours and started promoting the following day. Even with some Meta ads, online sales were slow to begin with, but they eventually started to pick up. We rallied the troops for some mates’ rates and a discounted price on the door.

Then, at 6.20pm yesterday, I was over the moon to officially announce that the show had SOLD OUT! And there I was, the anxious independent promoter, expecting no more than 20 or so people. But the planets aligned. All but three people on the lists turned up, and we had a couple of random door payers too, so all good for the coffers, as I say, to pay the ferryman.

People were turning up early, and from the first note of @anna_karila set, through @chantal.acda set and right to the last note of the encore from @tiny_vipers (Jesy), the 53 people in that room were the epitome of PinDrop: quiet, attentive and appreciative. But when you have three uniquely talented musicians, you can only expect that. It was an emotional pull, I tell yer. 😢

So I just want to personally thank @bluetree0 and @angipheonix for helping to secure the venue, and for all their help yesterday making the place look amazing with lights and decor. Thanks to Steve, who sorted the sound and technical side of things, and Glen on the bar. Thanks also to Amanda Hadlett and Mark Hadlett for providing the gubbins for the teas and coffees, and to the custodians of Toc H Coach House for putting their trust in us.

And of course, a huge thank you to Anna, Chantal and Jessy for the music.

Lastly, to everyone who bought a ticket or paid on the door, you were all part of a very special night.

Thank you.

PS. Pindrop will be back in Saltburn, keep em peeled.

Such a perfect night, the thanks yous and acknowledgements will come later, but for now here is another 60 seconds of the ever impressive @anna_karila performing an original (didn’t catch the title) at the Toc H Coach House, Saltburn for PinDrop #173 (last night) she has played to many new ears this weekend, and there has been so many great comments about her from those new ears, after another stunning set.
