Thank you @serioustopics and @deboergallery for including me in this smart, tough, beautiful show punching way above its weight. And for sharing one of the most extraordinary cities in the world with us!

The Mantel Gallery is pleased to present "Wonder Room," a solo exhibition by Annabel Osberg. @annabelosberg It takes the form of a cabinet of curiosities seeming to have emerged from a parallel world.

"Wonder Room" is on view now through May 10th. This exhibition is made possible in part thanks to a generous grant from the @artslb A big shout out to the Long Beach Arts Council for their continued support as we celebrate our 5th year anniversary.

In her latest body of work, Annabel Osberg navigates the intersection of organic form and psychological depth. “Convergence” (pictured here) exemplifies this tension, a weblike composition that oscillates between the microscopic view of a flower and the expansive brilliance of a jewel.

Osberg’s mastery of line creates a central yellow radiance that, upon closer inspection, takes on a startlingly sentient quality. As the artist notes, these ocular, vegetal shapes seem to peer back, transforming the act of viewing into a reciprocal gaze.
