16 years ago, when I was still the Executive Chef at @barcelonawinebar #WH, @annabridget and I had just started dating. We decided to get a dog, and from the moment we picked Snoop up at the airport, we instantly fell in love.

Snoop was there for all of it. He watched us fall in love, move to DC, get married, open a restaurant, close a restaurant, move back to Connecticut, go through Anna’s pregnancy, and eventually welcome Abie into the world.

Through every chapter, Snoop was right there with us.

He was our first son. In so many ways, he taught us how to be selfless and how to care for something more than ourselves. We loved him so deeply that for years we would drive all the way to Florida instead of flying just so he could come with us.

I never imagined I could love anything more than Snoop… until Abie was born, of course. ❤️

Snoop was so much more than a dog. He was family, and he was there for some of the most important, memorable, and life-changing years of our lives.

One of the greatest gifts was getting to watch Abie and Snoop together—and especially watching Snoop figure out pretty quickly that having a toddler around meant unlimited opportunities for food. 😂 He was always trying to steal something from Abie, waiting for scraps to fall—or be thrown—from his tray, and, of course, battling him for Mama’s attention.

This last year was the hardest. Snoop got old. His heart began to fail, his legs started giving out, and we knew we were getting closer to having to say goodbye. He went on medication and fought like hell these last four months, but today, we finally had to let our little guy go.

As heartbroken as we are, I’m at peace knowing Snoop had an incredible 16 years filled with more love than we could possibly have given him, countless adventures, and definitely way too many treats. 😂

Thank you, Snoop, for giving us your unconditional love for all these years. You were there as Anna and I built our life together. You helped teach us how to love, how to care for something beyond ourselves, and ultimately, how to become parents.

We love you, Snoop, rest in peace ❤️ 🐾
