The comeback is always greater than the setback 🤍

Life after treatment has been harder than I expected. Navigating medication, going back to work full time, joint pain, side effects and the mental adjustment of trying to find a ‘new normal’ (hate this term) has been a bit of a rollercoaster.

I’ve had the summer ‘off’ treatment, other than the awful hormone therapy and continued zoladex injections, but next week I start a new drug, given to high risk patients, which can come with some nasty side effects. It’s going to be strange going back into a hospital environment again, but I’m ready for it…bring it on.

In the meantime, the last 6 weeks have been full of trips, great plans and good people. Plenty of reminders that life can still be pretty wonderful, even when things are tough behind the scenes. 💕

When Anna found a lump while on holiday, she thought it was probably nothing. A few weeks later, she received a breast cancer diagnosis at Charing Cross Hospital.

Since then, she has undergone surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and is now adjusting to long-term treatment.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, she shared, “I am beyond thrilled with the care I’ve received from my breast surgeon, plastic surgeon and oncologist. When you get such a life-changing diagnosis, you suddenly feel completely out of control of your own life – as though all the decisions you thought you had about your life and your future are taken away from you.

“But I would have chosen Dr Meera Joshi, Dr Georgina Williams and Dr Victoria Harding in a heartbeat. They and their teams are responsible for saving my life, and I don’t think I could ever thank them enough.

“If there is one positive thing I can take from this whole experience, it’s the chance to urge other people to check their breasts and get anything unusual looked at.”

Anna’s spark is back 🤍✨

After finishing chemotherapy just seven weeks ago, @annacatherinejohnstone came to @anneliejhair for her first colour appointment, ready to start feeling like herself again.

Having kept most of her hair, aside from her edgy short sides, Anna was ready to bring back that powerful blonde she loved.

For Annelie, protecting the health of Anna’s hair was the priority. So, instead of a traditional full blonde, she created a softer balayage technique to carefully brighten and blend while being mindful of the hair’s condition.

Every product used was from @davinesofficial , including the Beautiful Things treatment, helping to protect and care for the hair throughout the colour process.

A beautiful new chapter, and one very powerful blonde reveal. ✨
