#installshots of #sofiamuljat @sofia.muljat ‘s ‘Where time is discreet,’ 2026, which is on view in her “Este rincón, mi rincón (No Corner, My Corner)“ exhibition at @casasantaana in #panamacity through September 27, 2026, curated by @julianairiart . Coverage of the show ran via @correocultural . Additionally, we have attached a #studioshot of Sofia and #shots of some of her other works. Sofia’s ‘Where time is discreet’ painting began after she viewed Botticelli's 'Spring,’ (cir. 1460’s - 1480’s; @uffizigalleries ). She found the orange forest in the work very beautiful, as well as the subtlety of the fabrics and the mystique the work emanates to such a point that she could almost listen to sweet and festive music in the background. Sofia has also shown with @annaericksonpresents @tube_culture_hall @andreafestafineart @gachiprietogaleria . Sofia was also a resident of @raro_barcelona .

It is such an honour to be a part of this exhibition which opens next week. It has been a dream for so long to show some of my artwork in New York City and it is finally happening and with such a cool gallery alongside some wonderful artists.

I am showing a large three panelled painting which is the biggest piece i have publicly shown. This piece was started before and finished after my endometriosis surgery. It has seen so many emotions, anger, despair, relief, fear and a feeling of a new start (and every other complication in between) It has also seen me feeling so broken and unable to move. I entered the studio for the few minutes and i was able to and throw single, frustrated marks and strokes onto the canvas and left defeated when the physical pain became too much. There is a lot of emotion in this but it feels so hopeful to me too. A reconnection to my body. Snippets, shapes and marks borrowed from my MRI and laparoscopy images appear in this. It is such an alien experience to see what is beneath the skin. I see this piece as a thread that connect what is outside and what is, or has been, inside me. This is just a little section of it.
