Kitchen island lighting…. It can be so good or SO bad!

These stunning images show you how to get it just right.

I’m partial to a lantern or opaline glass but double arm fixtures, flush mounts or even impactful single fixtures can work perfectly too.

Enjoy.

There’s something about a room where everything is new, pristine and perfectly matched that can make it feel a little flat.

Mixing old with new, choosing pieces with a bit of wear, adding pattern and texture, and allowing things not to perfectly match gives a room character and stops it feeling too polished.

It’s that little bit of tension that often makes a home feel more natural, relaxed and lived in.

So if a room feels like it’s missing something, perhaps it doesn’t need anything newer or more perfect. It might just need a little more character. 🤎

I personally love lanterns and opaline glass but double arm fixtures, flush mounts or impactful, single fixtures work well too!

Forget matching, the best entry halls feature an eclectic mix of objects found, sourced and lovingly displayed.

The first steps into your home deserve as much personality as the rooms beyond. This week we’ve rounded up ten entrance halls and staircases that truly consider exceptional design. From kooky console tables, colour-drenched joinery, to the central piece that everything else is styled around; decorative staircases, statement runners and delectable craft.

A hallway shouldn’t be an afterthought; it’s a first impression. Let it speak for itself.
What feature is essential to a hallway for you? — Bold pattern or unexpected colour?

First impressions begin at the front door.

From checkerboard floors and colourful joinery to collected artwork and welcoming consoles, these are the entrance halls we’re loving this week.

Proof that even the smallest spaces deserve just as much attention as the rooms beyond.

Which one would you walk into first? 1–10?

Inspired by the botanical studies of 18th-century Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus, Tess Newall’s Herbarium began as a hand-painted bedroom mural before evolving into an award-winning wallpaper collection. Each design is made up of individually painted botanicals, bringing together wildflowers, ferns, and woodland plants in a format that feels both historic and contemporary. Now available as wallpaper, fabric, and natural sisal grasscloth, Herbarium has become one of the studio’s defining designs.

Boot room (or mud room) inspiration. The dream is one with a fireplace or at least a sink and a central table. Anna Haines are un stil clasic, dar cald: culoare, textile și piese de antichitate care se leagă și creează spații autentice . Are un mix de eleganță și confort care nu se simte rigid, ci dimpotrivă, e primitor și invită la odihnă.
