More adventures at #AWP25. Was so, so splendid to catch up with Madushree Ghosh, Karie O’Driscoll, Elline Lipkin (and her forthcoming book!) Ann Faison, Mary Ore, and Elise McHugh who had sold a copy of my book moments before I arrived! (Hooray for University of NM Press - so grateful they’ve kept “Leaving Tinkertown” in circulation for all these years!) speaking of all these years, so marvelous to reunite with Jeff Rogers and Elizabeth Kadetsky. We were writing together when I still had a dot matrix printer. Cheers to Aimee Liu, Colette Sartor, Toni Ann Johnson, Elle Johnson and David Francis for their inspiring and often hilarious panel on Family Secrets, and to Lisa Eve Cheby, Elizabeth Galoozis, Cybele Garcia Kohel and Lauren Salerno for illuminating all the ways libraries can help writers and how we can advocate for libraries. These are hard, sad, strange times, but you all are an antidote. 💕💕💕

Happy to spend Father’s Day @armoryarts for the last day of my exhibition! It’s been an amazing experience showing the work in its truest form in Pasadena, where I call home. Appreciate everyone who was able to see the show! Thank you to @hebereatschips @elleinvd , @ksatzman @lito_arts @shoopbby @annbfaison @krvvstxxl @jon.the.point and all the amazing people at the Armory Center for the support.
Special thanks to:

- Hana for discovering the tiny treasures,
- Bodhi for sharing his hopes and fears,
- @friendsofsimilarsize for always sewing it all together.

My old friend Ann Faison interviewed me for her podcast on childhood grief. We talked about fatherhood and cancer. It was cathartic.
