This photo – my camera's blurry outtake from a very fun shoot I did earlier this year for @pasquawines epitomizes my thoughts for the coming year: to get out of my comfort zone, to embrace fun, to dive into the new fearlessly with open heart and mind, and to feed my inner weird. Neil Gaiman expressed it more articulately, “May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness…Don’t forget to make some art – write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And speaking of extravagant animal plumage...I've been thinking about the emotional resonance clothes hold for us. The best ones evoke specific feelings -- this fabulous Romeo Gigli shirt is from a time when I was an executive and the exquisite detailing on the cuffs -- the brocade, the mother-of-pearl buttons the sheer scale of the cuff, halfway up my arm -- let me feel like I was wearing a kind of board room Wonder Woman armor. The shirt lent me strength. When I wear it today, almost 30 years later, I still feel oddly protected but now more by its beauty. #youarewhatyouwear

SS24 BEAUTY PAGEANT: MEET ANNE

Anne’s background is full of fun experiences from being on the Sesame Street team in the 70’s, helping with the launch of Spy Magazine in the 80’s to being the worldwide creative director of Nickelodeon and Nick at Night in the 90’s.

She exudes her authenticity by embracing her age and even wrote a book called “Going Gray” where she shares her experience with aging, her hair becoming its true color and finding her true identity along the way.

Anne has a special skill of picking out the right wall paper for the right space as well as reducing chaos in her immediate vicinity.
