We have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement the forest products industry received during the Wilson County Tennessee State Fair — we haven’t even known where to start when it comes to thanking everyone and sharing.

So many of our members generously donated their time, resources, products, and expertise to make sure forestry was well represented during the Year of Forestry — and with 647,118 people attending, you couldn’t miss Tennessee forestry and forest products if you tried.

Board members Kevin Hoyt and Adam Taylor, along with their teams at UT AgResearch, provided seedlings and lumber, prepped and created beautiful Tennessee hardwood pieces for display, and brought wood science to life for kids through demonstrations.

Middle Tennessee Lumber provided flooring, moulding, and lumber. Good Wood Nashville provided flooring, reclaimed wood, and a beautiful slab—but most notably, their team showed up every day to operate the sawmill and talk with visitors about wood products. Wood-Mizer provided the portable sawmill that made the demonstration possible.

Clark Lumber Company hauled an entire log truck to Lebanon for display and timber sports. PCA provided pulp and paper products for our kids’ area, NHLA shared more about the hardwood industry, and East Tennessee Nursery provided seedlings to help tell the story of where our forests and forest products begin.

Talented woodworkers also joined us throughout the fair to show off the beauty and versatility of Tennessee wood.

Our friends at @protecttnforests drove and steered this project, working tirelessly before and throughout the fair to create an experience visitors would remember while teaching about forest safety, forest health, and forest products.

We are so proud of our state, our members, and Tennessee’s forest products industry. It was an honor to watch our community come together and show thousands of people just how much forestry means to Tennessee.

We know there are so many people who played a part that we haven’t even mentioned. This industry is really special, and we’re grateful to be part of it.

What a gorgeous May wedding at Bluff View! The Stevenson wedding perfectly encapsulates the beauty of getting married at the Art District. ✨ A stunning ceremony overlooking the river under the shade of the magnolia tree followed by an intimate dinner in the historic Maclellan House made for a delightful event to remember. 🤍
