🍔✨Just a casual day spent photographing one of Durham’s most beloved burger-and-cocktail destinations. Tough job, we know. 📸🍸

Durham Magazine readers once again voted @bar_virgile_durham among the Best of Durham for its burgers, fries, cocktails and late-night atmosphere.🏆

Between snapping photos of the famous smashburger, sipping the colorful St. John’s Swizzle and Wildflower Punch cocktails and trying not to immediately inhale the perfectly crispy fries, we got a closer look at what makes this spot such a local favorite. Owner Daniel Sartain sums it up best: “Good food and drinks are one thing, but thoughtful service is something people tend to remember.”

And that welcoming, no-fuss-but-always-exceptional approach shows up in every plate, every cocktail and every visit. Here’s a brief look at what went into capturing the story. 🎥✨

‘Twas a fun Saturday✨ @thenccourage soccer game with the girls to celebrate Linus being recognized during halftime. Late-night sushi @msushi_durham with @nellievail, and elite-level people watching at @velvethippodurham + @annexedurham. Also, accidentally became a part-time sushi dealer for starving college kids somewhere in the mix.

Special thanks to my girls for convincing me to break my very lame Saturday night routine and actually leave the house. @betsytolhurst and @chelliefrogg82…one of these days we’re actually going to remember to take a decent picture together. Probably.

Big weekend energy!

Pull up early if you’re trying to grab a spot. Cheap drinks all night and if you’re not ready to call it, keep it going next door @annexedurham till 2am. We heard it’s a killer Latin night by @ek__balam_ 🔥

P.S don’t leave your drink on the foosball table. This is just for the gram ;)

As many of you know, this is one of the busiest times of year for hospitality workers, so we truly appreciate your patience with our team this weekend.

We operate on a first come, first serve basis, so we recommend arriving early to get seated. We’ll be serving food until 11pm, and afterward you can keep the evening going downstairs at @annexedurham until 2am.

Congratulations to everyone. 🥂

Thank you to @durhamdistillery for showing our team a tour of where the magic happens! We had a blast tasting through different products—including a fun (and very unexpected) Big Mac flavored spirit they made for a special experiment.

We really appreciate you hosting the Mangum Hospitality group and making us feel right at home. Their products are top tier, especially @conniptiongin, which many of you already know and love. They also produce vodka, as well as a staff favorite, Krupnikas Spiced Honey Liqueur amongst others.

Special thanks to @emilz76 for making this possible!
