☀️ Join us in July ☀️ Our calendar is up & all tickets are available through our link in bio.

If you’re wondering about the difference:
🎨 Workshops are more structured, hands-on experiences where you’ll learn a creative skill or explore a specific project.
✨ Theme Nights are casual, community-focused drop-in sessions built around a shared medium, practice, or interest. Think somewhere between a workshop and making art with friends.

Originally handmade by @calllrich for the windows, the curtains showed us where they were truly meant to be — at the entrance to the living room.

They became a portal.
A transition from one world into another.

A deep exhale.
A space where dreams and play are nurtured.

Come explore what unfolds behind the curtain.

SOLD OUT: A workshop for noticing. As spring fills in around us, we’ll spend time observing and painting the shadows cast by plants and trees.

Join painter @annievore for a short indoor warm-up before heading outside (weather permitting) to trace the shadows cast by foliage and flowers into compositions, using watercolor and ink brush pens , focusing on shadow, light, and negative space. No experience needed, and all materials are provided.

Hey! Check out this fantastic article by Annie Yi published on the @ngadc website about a project from my drawing classes that imagines expanding the Index of American Design. Some of the wonderful work of my students is featured here and I am so proud of them! It’s really an honor to have this project featured online with the endlessly inspiring Index of American Design! I am so grateful to Annie her careful attention and palpable enthusiasm!

Thank you to @urbansketchersdc for hosting another fantastic community sketching event!! It's so inspiring seeing how every artist interprets the location completely differently and I always learn new ways of thinking and creating every time I attend.

A selection of “wedding” disposables featuring my beautiful friends and one fuzzy bee. Today I’m supposed to post my most recent newsletter on grid (it’s about the art of making a wedding registry that is FUN and WHIMSICAL), but I’m doing this instead!

(The newsletter, as always, is at elizabrooke.substack.com)

So long, summer 👋 To kiss these hot days goodbye, we looked back on your 730Day notes about where we have been and where we are going 🚇 Less mysterious wet spot on the bus seat, more time spent with chosen family.

What are you leaving behind? Where are you headed? Sound off in the comments.

What is Mapping Your Path all about? 🔎✨ part 1

Over the past 5 years I’ve been able to witness amazing transformations and connections. I wanted to share the journey in their words.

One of the amazing delights has been is having people join multiple cohorts. (It reflects the magic of this community.)

I run Mapping Your Path workshop + community three times a year. The next 3-month cohort (inspired by the creative exercises and reflective prompts in @overridebook 📓) kicks off Friday, May 16th! 🚀

Learn more about how you can join at mappingyourpath.com/playground
