BROKEN SHAPES - The urbanization forces of division
Laura Villa Baroncelli - Politecnico di Torino @another_absence @politecnicoditorino AAVS TBL 23

Despite the costs of fortifications being large while the benefits seem questionable, the construction of border walls has continued to increase in recent years at the fastest rate in history. Are they effective? Without a cost-benefit analysis, it is difficult to assess the effectiveness of border walls beyond their narrative. These measures seem more like political statements than efficient solutions when examined closely. According to geopolitician Elisabeth Vallet (2021), the caveat could lie in the fact that the construction of a border wall assumes its impermeability and does not consider adaptability. By ignoring what she calls the "evaporation effect" of the wall in space and time, constructions tend to reinforce the narrative of walling success “while concealing the spatial spillover and adaptive behaviors triggered by the existence of the wall”. Implicit here there is the idea that walls are deep determinants and
Foucauldian énoncés. Fundamental factors that shape anthropogenic processes over the long term, even after their removal, walls leave behind traces that continue to influence human dynamics. Do these effects extend beyond the immediate areas directly affected by the wall? If so, what circumstances influence the extent of these effects?

Happy birthday Yona Friedman!
Today you would have turned 100!

It seems yesterday that, together with Laura Villa Baroncelli, I interviewed you. Maybe it’s because your words are always relevant :)

THANK YOU NEW YORK 🦂💙

Blissful to announce that WILDFLOWER is Semi Finalist
@newyorkwomenfilmfest
T H A N K S !

Historically denounced as "women's work" embroidery hasn't been taken seriously as an artistic medium.
WILDFLOWER supports Feminist Revival of Embroidery using it as an art form and as a way of self-expression.

Thank you @rilievigroup for your beautiful embroideries made for this project and for your support, Grazie to my stunning crew
