Ansleigh Brown is one of our 12th graders here at Smyrna First United Methodist Church. She is the president of God’s Light choir and is also a high school intern for the youth program. She started a bible study for 8th and 9th grade girls in our youth building and is the president of the honor council at Whitfield Academy. This year she received her gold award for Girl Scouts and won two silver keys for the scholastic writing competition. We want to celebrate her awesome achievements today and invite you all to help us wish Ansleigh luck as she transitions from high school to college in the coming year!

Just a few photos to share what @iol_students were up to this weekend on our middle school mission trip in the mountains! We painted a house, got rained on (a lot), ate camp food, slept in wooden bunk beds, weather proofed a house, worshiped around a camp fire, tore nails out of wood planks, stained a wood chapel, froze our butts off at night, ate more camp food, heard many awesome devotions, said goodbye to cell service, saw a man in need grin from ear to ear, gathered in small groups, grew in small groups, laughed with each other during a “talent show,” salvaged scrap metal, worshiped some more, hiked uphill to a waterfall, attempted a group picture at said waterfall, laughed some more, had deep conversations, learned about being the salt & light of the world, showered with spiders, slept with moths, got up too early, went to bed too late, and had the best weekend ever. Thank you God for bringing me back to this amazing camp and for letting me lead the way 12 years later!! ❤️

Through the good times and the bad, through the drama and the tears, through the first times and the lasts, through the heartaches and the hurt, friends are the ones who get you through. they are the ones who are there for it all no matter what and I’m so thankful for mine!
