Allie x Cavela: One City. One Product. Total Dominance.

An entire city in China dedicated to lamps.
Every engineer. Every factory. Every supplier. One product.

The mall alone would dwarf anything in the US. And it only sells lamps.

It’s the same compounding network effect as AI in San Francisco.
Talent clusters. Knowledge compounds. Dominance snowballs.

Why would you even look anywhere else?

That’s the problem. China wins because discovery outside China barely exists.

There are factories everywhere that can produce high-quality products.
Nobody knows how to find them—yet.

Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) talk about manufacturing concentration, network effects, and building the tools to break the monopoly.

Allie x Cavela: The Death of Ancestral Knowledge

The most valuable manufacturing data in the world isn’t in a database. It’s in the hands of people who are about to retire.

Decades of craft. Generations of iteration. Process intuition that can’t be Googled.

And it’s disappearing.
The US wants to reshore manufacturing.
But the manufacturing muscle has atrophied from decades of disuse.
That’s not a capacity problem. That’s a knowledge problem.
Where does the tribal knowledge live now? The East.
If reshoring is going to work, someone has to capture what’s been lost.

Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) discuss why manufacturing’s greatest asset is vanishing, and what it takes to save it

Allie x Cavela: COVID Taught Us Nothing

The pandemic shut everything down.
Companies swore they’d build resilient supply chains.

That was four years ago.

Today? Tariff chaos is hitting on the back of COVID disruption.
The memory is still fresh. The preparation is not.

No backup suppliers. No diversified sourcing. No contingency plans.

Awareness went up. Preparedness stayed flat.

Everyone talks about agile supply chains.
Almost nobody has one.

Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) confront why the manufacturing world keeps getting caught off guard.

Allie x Cavela: The Smiling Curve That Broke the West

In the 80s, the West made a bet.
Design and marketing are high-value. Manufacturing is low-value.

So they gave manufacturing to China and kept what they thought mattered.

Bad bet.

Master manufacturing—and you figure out the design.
The reverse isn’t true. The US is learning that the hard way.

Once China owned the factory floor, they moved upstream. Direct to consumer. Temu. Factory brands.

Electric cars. The US dominated. Five years later, China is number one—by far.

The manufacturing value chain doesn’t smile anymore. It belongs to whoever builds.

Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) break down why the West can’t design its way out of a manufacturing deficit.

Allie x Cavela: Blue Collar Is the New Prestige

You build a model. Then you see it on the line.
The product comes to life. You can touch it. Feel it. Smell it.

That feedback loop doesn’t exist in a spreadsheet.

For decades, white collar was prestigious. Blue collar was looked down on.

Now AI is questioning every white-collar function.
And the people who build things with their hands?

They’re becoming irreplaceable.

The reshuffling is already happening. The people closest to the physical world are moving to the forefront.

Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) discuss why manufacturing work is about to gain the status it always deserved.

Allie x Cavela: Making Factories Cool Again

Top of their class at MIT. Stanford. Georgia Tech.
The last place they’d consider working? A factory.

The old guard—30, 40, 50 years on the floor—is retiring.
And no one is replacing them.

The perception: repetitive, manual, second-rate work.
The reality: machine learning models, reinforcement learning, autonomous optimization.

San Francisco is full of startups making manufacturing exciting again. Wild west energy. Real outcomes.

The factory of tomorrow won’t have people pressing buttons.
It’ll have engineers deploying intelligence.

Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) talk about the reindustrialization of America and why the next generation should care.

Allie x Cavela: Tariff Chaos and the Therapist CEO

A tweet drops. Business owners panic.
Their shipment is on the ocean. Nobody knows if they’ll pay.

Right now, the tariff landscape is absolute chaos.
Nobody really knows how these things are being applied.

The answer isn’t more meetings. It’s faster decisions.

Signal to action. That’s the only thing that matters.

An AI agent that reads the tariff signal, re-sequences production, and de-risks exposure—in seconds. Not weeks.

From any single disruption: how many days does it take you to respond?

Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) discuss how AI compresses decision time when everything is uncertain.

Allie x Cavela: China’s Manufacturing Speed.

US supplier: 10 emails, no response.
China: 10 quotes before you finish typing.
By the time Mexico responds—even with shorter lead times—Chinese factories have sent two sample iterations.

Manufacturing. Customer service. Design. Speed.
That’s why China has the upper hand.

Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) unpack what it takes to compete.

Allie x Cavela: Factories don’t need you anymore.
Chinese manufacturers cracked the code: design it, make it, market it, sell it - all in-house. They even have factory influencers on payroll now.
The entire value chain, vertically integrated under one roof.
U.S. reshoring was supposed to bring production home. But now new sights are set. Your supplier just became your competitor.
@anthonysardain (Cavela) and Alex Sandoval (Allie) break down how companies got cut out of their own supply chain.

Allie x Cavela: The Factory Workers Sixth Sense. Alex Sandoval (Allie) and Anthony Sardain (Cavela) unpack what happens when decades of factory intuition aren’t documented, and how AI might preserve that sixth sense before it’s lost.

Cavela, an AI startup founded by Anthony Sardain, has raised $6.6 million in seed funding co-led by XYZ Venture Capital and Susa Ventures, with participation from Crossover Capital. The company automates supplier sourcing for brands, helping them navigate global manufacturing and avoid tariff-related costs. Cavela’s AI agents can analyze product specifications, identify potential suppliers in over 40 countries, and handle communications to secure pricing and lead times—cutting weeks of manual work into a matter of days. Sardain says the platform not only accelerates the sourcing process but also helps companies save an average of 35% on production costs, even below pre-tariff pricing.
