We can do the reading together!

Meet us at Antilles Cafe for "Book Club," a gathering to read selections from a book as a group, and discuss our reading as it relates to housing rights.

The book we're discussing this session is Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. Come by and chat with us, no spoilers and no reading required!

Because the 🍁Harvest Table🍁 is for everyone and this season, I’m thinking about what it means to bring our village to one table.

The Season to break bread, create with our hands, share an experience across generations, while making room for the kind of connection that happens when we show up in real life.

This week, @sirjonbishop made his own harvest-inspired ikebana arrangement, reminding his environment that creativity doesn’t have an age requirement. Children deserve spaces to explore, adults deserve opportunities to play, and we all deserve moments that invite us to slow down and connect.

So this season, we’re making room for all of it.

Join @odetoyoustudio + @antillesofbrooklyn for The Harvest Table on November 8th. Bring your family, bring a friend, bring your curiosity.

Let’s get offline and into the room. 🔗 in bio

Better yet, pour yourself a glass and join us at The Harvest Table🍅

Next month, O2U Studios is partnering with @antillesofbrooklyn for an evening of seasonal creativity, good company, and unexpected arrangements inspired by the harvest.

Come for the experience. Stay for the conversation. Leave with a new appreciation for the beauty in the things we gather.

What if the arrangement was also the centerpiece?

Join us at the 🍅Harvest Table🍅 with @antillesofbrooklyn next month — for another ikebana experience all provided by Ode to You Studios.

There are less than two weeks left in Hispanic Heritage Month, so consider this your reminder to get out there and support! 👀

I put together 15 Afro-Latino businesses in NYC to add to your NYC things to do list, from food to bookshops and more. I put the owners faces as important to see as we often erase Afro Latinos from the narrative, even during Hispanic Heritage Month.

While Hispanic Heritage Month ends October 15, your support of Afro-Latino businesses should not.

SAVE THIS LIST for your next NYC adventure, THEN SHARE IT with someone who needs new spots to check out, and go show these businesses some love.

REMEMBER: While Hispanic Heritage Month may be the reason you discovered them, you don’t need a heritage month to keep supporting them.

Here, we support Black, and by default, Afro-Latino businesses all year long!

Sprinkle some much needed Azúcar Negra in the voice of Celia Cruz across people’s feed by repost & sharing!

SOOOO: Which other spots should I add to the list? Which spot you supporting ASAP?

BROOKLYN Afro Latino-Owned Businesses: @cafeconlibros_bk @elpuntocubanony @antillesofbrooklyn @barkbbq @michelles_lounge @eljeffenyc

BRONX Afro Latino-Owned Businesses: @thelitbar @fairysquadmothernyc @beatstronyc @boogiedowngrind @doncarvajalcafe

*CORRECTION NOTE: the owner of the Lit. bar identifies as Afro-Boricua (Afro-Puerto Rican)

Also, @beatstronyc has been temporarily closed since the Spring as they figure out their next chapter!

QUEENS Afro Latino-Owned Businesses: @stuartcinema

MANHATTAN Afro Latino Owned Businesses: @nuyoricanpoetscafe @lostboroughicecream @afrolatinotravel

*IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The owner of Afro Latino travel is now based in Panama so she rarely does Afro-Latine tours in NYC these days!
