Pingipung label night at @nachtasyl_thaliatheater Hamburg, 6th Nov 2026!

Three live concerts and two DJs. Experimental dub songs meet hypnotic, percussive improvisation and live-processed cello.

I̲k̲o̲ C̲h̲é̲r̲i̲e̲ (📷 2) from London plays her current album “Soft Centre” as the final date of her German tour supporting The Notwist. Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab) describes Iko Chérie’s songs as “music of a divine nature,” Valentina Magaletti as “melodies of quiet hope.” She herself calls her style “radical tenderness.” In this solo concert, the multi-instrumentalist’s fragile songs are given plenty of room.

The Hamburg-Berlin trio L̲o̲v̲e̲-̲S̲o̲n̲g̲s̲ (📷 3) combines Krautrock, dub, new wave, jazz and cosmic music into a hypnotic sound of bass, drums and electronics, with plenty of space for improvisation. At the end of 2026, Love-Songs go on a UK tour with new material, and they warm up for it with us in this night.

Pingipung co-founder A̲n̲d̲i̲ O̲t̲t̲o̲ (📷 4) performs with his cello and sensor bow. Here, too, dub is the fabric that holds everything together. The gestures of his bow in the air transform the cello sound with echoes, jazz scales and reverb spaces.

s̲o̲F̲a̲ e̲l̲s̲e̲w̲h̲e̲r̲e̲ from Brussels leads into the dance night. He is an obsessed crate digger, best known for his “Elsewhere” compilations and for his eclectic, genre-dissolving sets. His enthusiasm for rarities from tropical, Balearic, cosmic, leftfield electronic and dub promises a euphoric night on the dance floor.

H̲e̲i̲k̲o̲ G̲o̲g̲o̲l̲i̲n̲ (📷 6), also one of the Pingipung labelheads, opens the evening with one of his mesmerising DJ sets.

Happy birthday nightcruising!

I remember how we met for the first time in 2011, when I was a resident artist at the Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto, the German institute that had just opened its doors that year. I was introduced to the pianist and inspiring media artist Marihiko Hara to perform a short concert together for the opening ceremony, with my cello and sensor electronics. Tatsuya Shimada organised the event, and very soon the professional connection turned into a friendship and more ideas to work together in the future.
We released two CDs together and toured through Japan, sometimes solo, and also with F.S. Blumm from Berlin, Axel Kochmeier as DJ “Sutsche”, and the Indian singer MD Pallavi. very different formats, always taken care of by nightcruising and especially Tatsuya in a very generous, warm and friendly manner. I am deeply grateful for your collaboration and friendship, and for your perfect sense to find the best restaurant in every moment. I will never forget the fresh bamboo called “Takenoko” served in this tiny bar in Kyoto, or the Unagi eel in Hamamatsu. Thank you, I hope to cross paths again soon and enjoy more food together!

“If we look at where energy consumption has skyrocketed over the past few years, it’s in the area of so-called artificial intelligence. Have we ever discussed how much of it we need and how much of the energy we produce we want to allocate to further developing this industry?” – Jutta Kill (biologist, activist, researcher)

Only two chances left to experience the multimedia concert CARBON NEGATIVE by @flinn_works - Tonight at 8pm and Saturday, August 29 at 6pm.

@s.alonsolighting was in the house. So is @antioddo - We don’t know how many hours, weeks, months we have spent together in the last 14 or so years creating lights and sound, buying tech, transporting tech, setting up tech, solving tech problems, running tech live. Btw: 1 person in this picture is still bad at tech. Guess who.

“And that’s the moral question facing the world today. Are we going to let people pollute because they can pay. That means the rich people will be polluting and destroying the earth, and poor people will be losing their resources to pay for what the rich people are polluting. And that’s the essence of the climate colonialism.” - Dr. Mordecai Ogada (biologist, activist, author)

The Flinn Works production CARBON NEGATIVE explores the impact of greenwashing and green colonialism. Don’t miss it tomorrow, August 27 through August 29.

For Carbon Negative @flinn_works wanted to know, how much greenhouse gases does a production actually emit?

That’s why they didn’t reduce, but measured 📐

CARBON NEGATIVE is less than a week away! Head over to our link in bio for details and tickets on the latest laboratory and multimedia concert by Flinn Works.

Do you want to reduce your carbon footprint but don’t know how? Then come to Carbon Negative! This performance is not only climate-neutral, but climate-positive. Your visit will actively contribute to reducing our carbon footprint because we will overcompensate for our harmful emissions.

Perhaps the 1.5 degree target would still be achievable if we used smart technologies on a larger scale and made them more marketable? Or are such environmental projects ultimately just comprised of greenwashing and green colonialism?

Join in the thinking and the decision-making, for a better future!

Carbon Negative by @flinn_works is a laboratory and multimedia concert, creating a collective space for reflection and action.
