Our second GWPR Empower Masterclass asked a powerful question: what does it really take to be grounded, present and heard?

Antoinette Dale Henderson brought our mentees into the world of pitching with gravitas — not as something vague or unreachable, but as a skill that can be understood, practised and strengthened. From the energy we bring into a room, to the way we prepare, connect, speak and hold our space, she showed that gravitas is not about being the loudest voice. It is about being intentional.

One of the biggest takeaways? Great ideas do not win on their own. Whether in a pitch room or in our own careers, visibility, preparation and presence matter. And as Antoinette reminded us: PR professionals are brilliant at building credibility for brands — but we need to bring the same seriousness to building it for ourselves.

Thank you, Antoinette, for a session full of clarity, confidence and practical wisdom. And thank you to Megha Chaturvedi for capturing the conversation so thoughtfully. 💜

“We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle.” ✨
Marilyn Monroe

Antoinette, Liz, Joanna and I went to see the Marilyn Monroe exhibition at the @nationalportraitgallery

Yes, she was beautiful, glamorous and endlessly photographed, but what really struck me was how much she understood the power of her own image.

At a time when Hollywood studios had huge control over their stars, Marilyn worked hard to retain control over her photographs and how she was seen.

Knowing what makes you shine isn’t about vanity. It’s about understanding yourself, owning who you are and allowing yourself to twinkle ✨

Followed by drinks (the pink ones are called Norma Jeane so had to be done) and supper at Larry’s Bar in the Crypt. A fabulous London evening with three fabulous women.

Because we all deserve to twinkle ✨

Just look at this lot!
The brilliant, bold, beautiful @hotsy_totsyers gang 💥

So much energy. So much verve. So much knowledge.
These women are my go-to gang... for advice, for encouragement, for business brilliance, for deep chats over wine and full-on frolics under fairy lights.

What started as networking has become something so much more. A group of powerhouse women who lift each other, laugh loudly, share generously, and show up with sparkle - both literal and emotional ✨

If you're lucky enough to find yourself in a room full of women like this, stay there. Lean in. Let yourself be seen, heard and held. Then return the favour.

I’m endlessly grateful for this crew - for the wisdom, the warmth, and the wild(ish)😉 nights out.

Do you ever walk into a room and feel like you’re blending in when you need to stand out?

I recently spoke to a group of female leaders about how to add impact, presence, authority and gravitas - not by being louder, but by being more you.

When your colours, style and body language align, you project confidence and credibility effortlessly. You don’t have to change who you are - just refine how you show up.

Immediate synergies and some great conversations. Also great to reconnect with people I’ve not seen for a while. #eagb #londonconnections #businessnetworking #connection
