Every 3rd Eye in next weeks batch will come with @bandcamp download codes for music from #PedalBrainz purveyors @aotokumo @drongotapes @eldlin_cope @kaicarsonwest

I really dig the vibrations that these folks are cranking out and thought you might too. They’ve graciously provided inspiration, and now codes, to help connect folks with their music.

Get signed up to the mailing list to be the first to hear about when the next batch is leaving the laboratory. 🧪🧠✨

#PedalBrainz Pre-Release Appreciation Post

All 🔊& 🎥 @aotokumo - give a follow to catch some release day magic coming soon.

@aotokumo was in the first group of Beta testers, back at v1…before there were even Brainz in the Brainz…and his contribution along the way has been immense. His perspective on usability, functionality, and creative possibilities have led to better Brainz over time. At each phase he would drop these tiny nuggets of inspiring expressions using various prototypes and software iterations. He helped QA the documentation for updating the Arduino and lent opinions on a million different things along the way.

It’s been a wild ride so far and the Brainz are better for @aotokumo

All of my thanks!

Very honored to have been asked to open for the maestro himself, @tobinsummerfield —longtime friend, mentor, and just an incredible musician/human who changed the trajectory of my life. He’ll be doing a solo set from his latest album, which I highly recommend checking out too!

I also happen to be breaking my 9-year hiatus of playing shows (and really nervous/excited about that!), so I’m happy that one of my best friends @jordan_fartz will be joining me on guitar and synth duties to play a couple songs from my album + a new song we collaborated on.

Free admission at @comfort_station : Thurs Sept 8th from 7-9 pm. Masks required. Hope to see you there!

More prototype and software testing for @lostchocolatelab 🧪. Using the Tascam 414 (3 tracks on a tape loop) going into the @dwarfcraft Witch Shifter, which is being ramped with the Left Brain’s “Squarez Mode.” Having a pedal that didn’t have ramping capabilities before, this opens up a lot of possibilities. Two examples here...

1st clip: I set the red light to be a perfect fifth, and the blue light is slightly under a fifth, which creates a subtle undulation of the drones. I also set it to -1 octave when the light goes off.

2nd clip: Set the red and blue lights at different rates of the tremolo, which makes the string drone sound like it’s being bowed at various speeds.
