Together with Sophie Hicks Architects, we developed for Max Mara the hand embroidered linen curtains for the fitting rooms of the new space on Avenue Montaigne in Paris. Throughout the history of commerce, staircases have always marked the evolution of retail spaces. Sophie Hicks gave us her staircase as a starting point, conceived as a flame illuminating the heart of this incredible building, completely renovated by her team. Reflecting on its spiral movement and interweaving, we worked with drawn thread embroidery, executed entirely by hand on linen. Variations in stitch tension and arrangement gradually alter the density of the embroidery, creating a free and dynamic rhythm between more compact sections and lighter, more transparent areas. On the occasion of the 2026 Venice Biennale, we presented FIUU by Michele Cesaratto, a semi legendary bestiary of handwoven wool and cotton tapestries developed together with Fondazione Le Costantine and Galleria Acappella, where heraldic banners, video game figures and digital primitivism coexist through thread, pixel and journeys along the Tagliamento river.
