Seeing visuals when you take DMT? You may not be taking 5-MeO-DMT. N,N-DMT and 5-MeO-DMT are chemical cousins, but the experiences can be very different. One is often described through vivid visuals and encounters; the other is more often associated with an embodied experience and a sense of oneness. After nearly a year of investigating 5-MeO-DMT, I recently experienced it for myself. I came away with a thread to pull on as I repair my trust in myself — and a felt sense of being okay. I’m unpacking what happened, what I learned about this compound, and why the gift of a psychedelic experience may be awareness, not a ready-made solution. Read my latest Substack. Link in bio. Listen to my full conversation with Dustin and Roger of Sky Mountain in episode #115 on YouTube @aprilpridecreates.

LSD’s short-term effects, explained without the sixties mythology clouding the picture. Perception, introspection, and duration all vary more than the legend suggests. 🔵 Key Takeaways • LSD can feel emotionally safer than psilocybin, especially if you’re not in the “perfect mood” before dosing. • Microdosing LSD typically ranges from 10–20 mcg, often administered via liquid or tab—and may be energizing enough to replace stimulants like ADHD meds. • Bad acid trips have a legacy, but trusted sourcing changes everything. Learn how April overcame family fears. • LSD has a fraught history including U.S. mind control experiments. But it’s also showing promise for depression, addiction, and anxiety in therapeutic contexts. #lsd #psychedeliceducation #harmreduction #mythbusting #consciousness

I didn’t use psychedelics to “find myself.” I used them to sit with the parts of my life I couldn’t avoid. Divorce. Midlife. Less time with my kids. The terrifying space between the life you had and the one you haven’t built yet. I’ve written honestly about what my psychedelic experiences taught me about grief, change, identity, and starting over—and what they didn’t magically fix. If you’re a woman navigating your own major life transition, I’d love for you to read along. Subscribe to my Substack via the link in bio💙

The most underrated tool in psychedelic work isn’t a substance. It’s your breath. 🫁 Nobody talks about the breathing part, but it might be doing more work than anything else in the room. #breathwork #dmt #psychedeliceducation #harmreduction #innerwork

When a psychedelic experience gets challenging, your first instinct might be to fight it. Instead, try giving yourself something steady to return to. Three grounding practices—breath, touch, and mantra—can help you reconnect with your body, slow the spiral, and remember that you’re safe enough to keep going. Save this for when you need it. 💙 Preparation Tips aprilpride.com #psychedelics #psychedelicintegration #psychedelicmindset #harmreduction #setandsetting
