Justice through a coronial inquest?

Join us from 1PM - 2PM (AEDT) on Tuesday the 6th of October online for a conversation with Dr Latoya Aroha Rule from the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education & Research and Apryl Day from The Dhadjowa Foundation about supporting families through the coronial process, and whether justice can ever be found within colonial systems.

This conversation will be moderated by Natalie Ironfield and Lauren Caulfield.

'Justice through a Coronial inquest?' is a fundraiser for the loved ones of Eimable Manirakiza, raising money to support them to attend his coronial inquest this year.
You can also donate to the fundraiser directly - link in bio.

Please also consider making a donation to the Dhadjowa Foundation to sustain their ongoing inquest work supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families whose loved ones have died in custody.

Thanks to all the mob who showed up to support this project and to everyone who’s shared their feedback or reviewed the film on @letterboxd. It means the world to us.

This is just the beginning!

He’s already so smart and we’re so proud!

It’s hard to believe we’ve only had him home for 3 weeks. We’re slowly working on the basics before he begins his journey to become Willa’s assistance dog, and we’re loving watching him grow into himself.

I’m definitely not a professional dog trainer so every little win feels like a win for both of us 😂

These little training sessions have been just as much about building our bond and trust as they have been about learning new skills. Puppy school starts in a few weeks, and we can’t wait to see how much he learns over the next few months 🐾

If you’re in Naarm/Melbourne for NAIDOC Week, you can catch these films and more. 🎟️️️️

This year, NAIDOC marks 50 years. Fifty years of mob showing up in the streets, the courts, the classrooms, the galleries, the water.

To mark this moment, we’re proud to partner with @justfuturescollab on a community film and conversation series in Melbourne celebrating First Nations leadership, climate justice and our shared future.

Organised by Kulkalaig woman and climate justice advocate Tishiko King, the series uses film as a way to bring people together for conversations around Country, community, and more than 65,000 years of knowledge and story.

5–12 July at Brunswick Picture House. Proceeds go directly to frontline communities.

🎟️👉Grab your tickets now at brunswickpicturehouse.com.au/naidoc-week (link in bio)
