We quickly learned fostering Pillow that she doesn’t ask for much… her main requirement is to be tucked into bed. Totally reasonable and totally adorable. Once she’s burrowed in, with her puppy dog eyes out, feel free to melt. Shes into leisurely strolls, short ones and long ones, followed by a long nap in a cozy dog bed nearby her favorite people. Shes super smart, knows a few tricks, is very observant and attentive. Shes softer than the softest stuffy, I truly haven’t felt anything like it. she’s a magical combination of many types of dogs that is truly priceless… these spots! Those eyes! A perfect medium size, and somehow low shedding? I know… I wear a lot of black. She’s friendly with new people, gentle and patient with kids, and house trained. After about the 3rd day she started offering us belly rubs, and gaining more confidence. She’s one of a kind, a real gem, with a lot of love to give. 💎

Unc refuses to pay child support, so I’m raising these foster kittens with the help of APS of Durham and absolutely NO contribution from the man of the house #disgraceful

Sweet girl Nell is ready for her forever person! She is so smart and just wants to please. If you’re ready for a dog who will follow you everywhere and is eager to learn and spend time with you, Nell is ready for you to be her person!

My own rescue journey started walking dogs at the Wake County Animal Center @friendsofwcac , and I’ll forever be grateful for that foundation. Since starting to foster 4.5 years ago with @hopeanimalrescue I now pull dogs from many shelters in NC, including both WCAC and @aps_of_durham . 🐾✨

Look at what APS and their incredible volunteers accomplished in 2025:
💛 21,914+ hours of volunteer service (late-night calls, medical care, recovery!)
💛 $160,000 invested in low-cost spay/neuter for Durham residents
💛 5,000+ animals cared for & 450+ reunions home 🏡
💛 2,000+ microchips distributed & 3,000+ spay/neuters done 💉
💛 2,000+ dogs in foster care & 500+ safely transferred out 🤝
Plus all the amazing community events like Walk for Animals, Barktoberfest, and Santa Paws! 🎅🐕

Want to help show support for APS!? Two ways to support (both linked in my bio!):
🎟️ Duke-UNC Basketball Raffle: A $50 donation enters you to win tickets to the big game (even if it physically pains this Wolfpack fan to type that! 😂🐺)
✨ Home for the Holidays Benefit: Coming up on Nov 7 at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club!
