On August 29th, I underwent a major surgery that lasted over eight hours. Multiple organs were affected, and extensive disease had spread throughout my pelvis. I was diagnosed with deeply infiltrating Stage 4 Endometriosis — a condition that had been silently taking over my body for years.

I’ve been living with endometriosis since 2012, but for a long time, my pain was dismissed or misunderstood. Every month, I was down for weeks at a time, pushing through pain that no one could explain.

It wasn’t until I sought care outside the U.S. that I finally received answers. Years later, after moving to California and trying various treatments, my symptoms worsened. An MRI (not just ultrasounds) finally revealed the severity of my condition, making surgery unavoidable.

While the surgery itself was successful, I experienced a rare complication afterward that led to a long and challenging recovery. The last several months have been filled with hospital stays, healing, and deep personal reflection.

As an Afro-Latina Dominicana, I was raised to be strong — always. But this journey taught me that real strength also means allowing yourself to feel, to rest, and to ask for help.

I’ve learned that our bodies speak to us, and we must listen. That being strong doesn’t mean being silent.

Nearly 1 in 10 women live with endometriosis — an invisible illness often minimized as “bad cramps.” It’s not.

I’m still healing, still learning, and still choosing grace for myself. If you’re walking this path too, please know: you are not alone. I love You.💛

Today, our hearts are full as we gathered together to visit our beloved Great Aunt Katie at her facility during our family reunion. 💖

There’s something powerful about showing up as a whole family—generations coming together to remind her how deeply she is loved, cherished, and remembered. Her eyes lit up, her smile warmed the room, and it was a beautiful reminder that family is forever.

This visit wasn’t just for today… it’s for a lifetime of memories, love, and legacy. We are grateful to have had this moment with her, and we carry it with us always.

🕺 40 Steps to 3•5 Begins!

As I count down to my birthday on March 5, I’m celebrating by sharing 40 dances from my lifetime—each one holding a special memory, a lesson, or just pure joy. Dance has been a huge part of my life, shaping who I am, and I can’t think of a better way to honor that than by revisiting the moments that made it all meaningful.

Let’s kick things off with this unforgettable one:

📍 Dance #1 – The World is Ours, Miss California Pageant (2014)

This performance was pure joy—endless laughter, unforgettable core memories, and an incredibly talented group of people who welcomed me with open arms (many of whom I still see and perform with today). It was my first time stepping into the Miss California pageant world, and experiencing all the behind-the-scenes magic made it even more fascinating.

Fun fact: Choreographed by the amazing @cassienordgren, this dance was part of a world-themed showcase, which made it even more fun to bring to life on stage. More from this era coming soon!

One down, 39 to go! 🎉 What’s a performance or moment that left a lasting mark on you? Let’s reminisce together! ⬇️
