It started as a podcast to keep Mormons in. It became a $1M nonprofit for those who left.

In 2005, John Dehlin launched Mormon Stories to give Latter-day Saints “reasons to remain.” We looked at what it’s become: the branding, the editorial pattern, and 14 years of public IRS filings.

📈 The year after his 2015 excommunication, revenue jumped 68%.

💰The year after a 2022 rebrand that’s now at the center of a federal trademark lawsuit, it jumped 62%, to $1.19 million.

I love how President Emily Belle Freeman (@emilybellefreeman) teaches the Lord’s COVENANT promises to Jacob in her Five-Finger Promise. They each add to and echoe the heart of this gathering:

“I will bring you home again.”

It lays out the doctrines of the gospel simply, powerfully, and in a way that helps you not only understand them—but actually TEACH them.

And I believe that matters.

We should ALL be studying the doctrines of the gospel so we can clearly understand what we believe, WHY we believe it, and be prepared to teach it to others.

@josh_howerton THANK YOU for clarifying this—because this is one of the BIGGEST things other Christians get wrong about Latter-day Saint theology.

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints and…

**We do NOT believe our works save us. Christ does.**

Through His infinite mercy and grace, Jesus Christ saves mankind from death through His Resurrection. That is His gift. We cannot earn it.

Where our theology differs is **exaltation**.

The restored gospel teaches one of the most expansive views of Christ’s saving power: **His victory over death extends to ALL mankind.**

But God still honors our agency. We choose the kind of covenant relationship we want with Him through our choices, covenants, and discipleship.

**Grace comes first. Christ saves. And our works reveal what we choose to do with that incredible gift.

Isaiah 54 | Zion | Gathering Israel | Covenants | Ordinances | Jesus Christ | Wide Tent Strong Stakes

What if the Lord’s command to enlarge the tent was never an invitation to loosen what holds it down?

Isaiah says:

Enlarge.
Lengthen.
Strengthen.

Make room. Extend the connection. Drive the stakes deeper.

A tent with no stakes isn’t expansive. It’s unstable.
But a tent that refuses to enlarge isn’t gathering.

The Lord asks for both.

And then I noticed something I can’t stop thinking about: the Hebrew word Isaiah uses for “stake” in Isaiah 54:2 is the same word translated “nail” in Isaiah 22:23:

“I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place.”

A stake is only as secure as what it is driven into.

For me, one of the clearest covenant applications is this:
the stakes represent the covenants and ordinances that bind us to Jesus Christ. Our SURE FOUNDATION, our SURE PLACED.

Our covenants and ordinances matter because through them we are fastened more deeply to Him.

So as Zion expands, COVENANT connection should NOT become weaker. It needs to become STRONGER and DEEPER. Individually and as a people.

More people gathered.
More deeply connected.
More firmly rooted in Christ.

The storm is not a reason to shrink the tent.
And making room is not a reason to pull up the stakes.

GATHER WIDELY.
ANCHOR DEEPLY.

WIDE TENT. STRONG STAKES.

2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, 26.2 mile run

Ironmans theme is “anything is possible”… I always add “anything is possible… WITH GOD.”

God is SO good! being able to just tow the start line to this race was miracle let alone being able to finish it in the time that I was.

Some may say, God doesn’t care how you do in a race and honestly, it probably isn’t that big a deal when it comes to the grand scheme of things and all he has to deal with.

BUT me being here that day I KNOW was a GIFT! I had sacrificed my LIFE in so many ways for my sweet boy with all his care and when I opened that email that day I KNEW he was gifting me this opportunity!!!

So with 6 weeks training (bike and swimming) as I had kept up on my running I was able to go out and finish in 11 hours 30 min. MIND BLOWING for someone who hadn’t trained all year 🤯

GOD cares! He cares about our likes, dislikes, goals, dreams, hobbies, etc. HE CARES! He loves and if we remain faithful to him in all things he pours out his blessings in every way we can imagine

"I should like to consider a kind of light that has infinitely greater power and effect. I speak of spiritual light. It comes from God and his gospel. In the scriptures, we find reference to a relationship between the physical light of the sun and spiritual light. We read in the Doctrine and Covenants, section 88, of “the light of truth;

“Which truth shineth. This is the light of Christ. As also he is in the sun, and the light of the sun, and the power thereof by which it was made. …

“And the light which shineth, which giveth you light, is through him who enlighteneth your eyes, which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings;

“Which light proceedeth forth from the presence of God to fill the immensity of space—

“The light which is in all things, which giveth life to all things, which is the law by which all things are governed” (D&C 88:6–7, 11–13)."

I had just finished sharing a message where I tried to help women understand how profound it is to be God's crowning creation.

Afterwards I overheard a woman say, "that was beautiful, too bad it isn't true."

I was in shock and saddened but even more determined to help women see the incredible message for us hidden in the creation of the world.

There is nothing random about God's plan. All things were organized in an exact and intentional order. Each creation put in place to support whatever would come after.

What was this crowning creation that had such an incredible purpose that God designed and established all creation to support it?!"

“when God finished the work of creation and He had Adam ready to serve, he was still not complete. The great, final, culminating work of God’s creation... was a woman.”

The significance of this truth cannot be understated! We must understand, believe and step fully into our role as women.
