19 poets. One full moon.

September’s MOONSTRUCK began with one unfinished line from our October Featured Poet, Manny Saints @mannysaints:

Those seeds like thoughts did you bury, what bounty of dreams did you…

Each poet read what came before them and added one line, without knowing where the poem would end up.

This is where it went.

Written one line at a time under September’s moon.

Tonight at @booksandbooks in Coconut Grove, the poetry community reminded me just how alive it is. ❤️

A room full of talented poets and attentive poetry lovers gathered for another evening of poems, affirmations, love notes, and first-time voices sharing their work.

We heard seasoned poets bring the magic of their experiences to the microphone, inspiring others to step forward and share their own stories. There is something beautiful about watching a room transform into a safe space for vulnerability, imagination, and connection.

This Live Poets Society gathers every third Thursday of the month at our favorite local bookstore, and each time I’m reminded that poetry is more than words on a page, it is a way of bringing people together.

Thank you to everyone who read, listened, encouraged, and shared a little piece of themselves tonight.

The poetry community is alive. And it is beautiful. ✨📖🎤

Wild Bloom Poetry sprouted in Miami 🌴

A balmy afternoon gave way to jazz and poetry as @michaelgasparimusic and @sophia.eve.garas opened the gathering.

Then came the unmistakable rhythm of @thebiscaynepoet sharing from his latest book, “Geography of Light.”

As the sun lowered behind the trees, familiar and new voices stepped forward to share their words.

Thank you to @agriartistsheila, @vizcaya_museum, @gg.musicstudios, @thebiscaynepoet, and everyone who joined us for this first Miami popup.

It felt like the beginning of something.

We gathered at @booksandbooks in the Grove, and for a few hours, something quiet and essential revealed itself.

This open mic continues to grow into a living community, poets supporting poets. Some just beginning, others carrying years of writing, all meeting in the same fragile act of saying something true.

People listened. People risked. And in that exchange, we became a light for one another, brief, human, and enough.

Grateful to be part of it.

Come join us every third week of the month.

About last night 🌙
After every Wild Bloom Poetry gathering, I say the same thing, that was magic, there’s no way to top it.

And then, I am awestruck.

Last night was our largest gathering yet. I decided to move us into the garden so we could bask in the moonlight and have plenty of space ✨

Izzi opened the night with an autumn-inspired set that carried us into the season.

Flor Ana followed with her curated poems including some from The Spell Jar: Hauntings of the Heart, filling the space with spellbinding energy.

A garden of poets shared their heartfelt poems on stage where the audience received each word with presence and grace.

Much gratitude to Claudia, Yamila, and the entire team at Emily’s Garden for taking such beautiful care of us…

And to everyone who showed up, listened, and shared their magic, thank you for being part of this wild dream 🌼

See you next month! RSVP is a must to keep the flow whether listening or sharing.

Basking in the community glow,
Stella 🌸

Miami is a Poetry City. Last night, we gathered not just to present a book, but to share poems that added to the poetry of the night itself.
POETRY CITY became a living moment—a gathering of poets and artists from all disciplines, all in the same room, each one adding their voice, their spirit, their energy to something larger than any one of us.
After the presentation, the open mic became a chorus of stories—honest, raw, and luminous. Thank you to everyone who came and contributed to this unforgettable night.
If you haven’t yet, let Poetry City walk with you through the streets and silences of Miami, through mango trees, memory, and meaning.
POETRY CITY is available anywhere books are sold, and the link is in my bio.

A big thank you to @booksandbooks for hosting me, for hosting us, and for always being a champion of this Miami community.
