POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🚗 🏔️ Next Tuesday, August 25 at 7:00PM, join us for DGC Cinema Associate Holly's @arbyparty Staff Pick, END OF HISTORY. Jacob Gregor's absorbing, satirical road film steers into the heart of the terminally online and alienated, and takes you where the liminal space of podcasts and their consequences meets the edge of the world. 🎟️ Get tickets now at the 🔗🔝 or in person at our box office.

Influenced and accompanied by manosphere mantras and motivational content, a young man sets out on a road trip through the North American continent, from his home in the Midwest all the way to Alaska, on a quest for self-optimization, in Jacob Gregor’s END OF HISTORY, a quiet yet fierce satire that is frequently funny, often absurd and always lonely. The voices of content creators preaching pop stoicism and the grievances of Canadian conservative talk radio haunt the stunning natural vistas and endless suburban sprawl of his northward journey, with nothing to be found and nothing to feel alongside the frozen lakes, at the feet of snow-covered mountains, in strip mall parking lots, gas stations and motel honeymoon suites.

Day 1 of @sdbookcrawl was a BLAST! Scroll through to see some of the amazing crawlers that came through. 📚 Quick crawl clarification: Library Shop SD counts as ONE stamp location on the 2026 San Diego Book Crawl! Both our Central Library and Mission Hills locations fulfill that single stamp requirement. You will only receive ONE STAMP towards the @sdbookcrawl prizes, even if you go to both @libraryshopsd locations.

We do have a special offer for the first 75 people who do want to visit both locations, and make a qualifying purchase at each, to win a prize pack, but this second stop does not count toward your overall passport stamps.

Happy crawling and if this is still confusing to you, please DM us and we’ll help you out!

Day 2 here we come!

I love DGC Video nights and staff picks. @arbyparty picked another winner -- Peter Greenaway's Drowning by Numbers. I love Greenaway, his films are rigorously and elegantly crafted. They are also obsessed with order, structure, death and decay. I think his films are about trying to place order on the the chaos of human existence. His films are also witty and sly. Snd the score by frequent collaborator Michael Nyman is stunning. And of course every frame is a painting.
