Kalimera!

It is always fun to catch up with my @arc_athens family @mariavrachnos & @chryssaa99 in #Athens. 😍

Some of y'all may or may not know, but back in 2019 my bro @cullenwashingtonjr and I were the inaugural fellows for the ArcAthens Residency program founded by my bro @aristides_logothetis. Peeps like @tomashi_ashi , @abstractexit , @mirandailash , @danai_giannoglou have also participated as the program has grown and developed to not include New Orleans and Sag Harbor.

The whole experience was a game changer personally and professionally. I've made so many friends, family and colleagues. Even had the honor of collaborating with @pokayio & @omsk_social_club on the 7th Athens Biennial: Eclipse as one of the curators in. 2021.

I'm eternally grateful for what the residency and everything that has happened post has taught me. I'm looking forward to all the amazing projects happening in Athens in the coming months.

For those thinking about applying (Deadline is June 30th), Please APPLY. If you have a chance to join the ArcAthens Residency you will be in truly esteemed company.

There are only a few moments in life when one has the chance to encounter truly influential people.

A few months ago, as an @arc_athens Curatorial Fellow, I had the opportunity to travel to New Orleans, where Dawn DeDeaux @dawndedeaux —the pioneering artist and extraordinary human being—hosted us at the legendary #CampAbundance , an exceptional artist residency and gathering place for artists, scholars, and creatives. Through her generosity and deep connection to the city, she offered us invaluable insight into New Orleans’ artistic, cultural, and environmental landscape.

Tomorrow, just over three months later, the wonderful Dawn DeDeaux arrives in Athens for a special public presentation hosted by ARCAthens, shortly after presenting her work at the 61st Venice Art Biennale @labiennale .

It is a rare privilege to continue this dialogue across cities, communities, and artistic practices, and to be in diaologue with Dawn, the ARCAthens family @maromichalakakos, @dionisis_christofilogiannis_ , Seth Boonchai @oliowork and @aristides_logothetis , as part of the ongoing cultural exchange fostered by ARCAthens.

🗓 Thursday 25 June 2026
⏱Arrival time: 6:30 pm
⏰Starting time: 7:00 pm
(followed by a reception)

Sometimes the work is simply showing up. For four months, I spent around 10 hours a day working on this drypoint plate. Thousands of lines later, this quiet road and hidden house became a testament to patience, persistence, and the beauty of paying attention. #Drypoint #Printmaking #ContemporaryPrintmaking

It is very exciting and encouraging when people and organizations believe in you and support you to fulfill your goals. As such, I am thrilled to share that my ongoing curatorial research fellowship with ARCAthens @arc_athens in New Orleans and New York has received additional support from Onassis AiR @onassis.foundation @onassis.stegi .

As an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2025/26 in the framework of Onassis AiR’s collaboration with ARCAthens I am able to further develop my ongoing research project Rooted Movements.

Developed between New Orleans and New York, Rooted Movements explores the relationship between walking as a performative practice and urban vegetation—looking at how both plants and people move, settle, and form communities within the urban grid. The project unfolds through field research, mapping, and performative approaches, engaging with questions of public space, migration, and the right to the city.
