“A dark but honest reality.
.
.
It can be hard to discuss postpartum and I think so many people think postpartum depression and think sadness but what about postpartum rage? I’ve talked about this a little bit and wanted to again share for anyone else suffering from this that you are not alone.
.
.
I am bonding to my baby very well, I take the postpartum tests at the doctor and “pass” but I feel this anger inside and avoidance of others sharing their births here on the motherhood community. I want you all to know I’m so happy for your blessings of pregnancy and of course wish the best for you but I can’t watch your birth vlogs, I can’t watch your bringing baby home videos, I just can’t, a pain brews inside of me and anger when I see a virtually flawless birth. It’s anger not towards that person but anger that in my birth experience things will never be the same for me. So many choices I took for granted were taken away from me that prolong into my present and my future and I’m not ok with it but I have to be. I have to keep remembering it’s ok to be angry and upset, it’s ok that in order to protect myself I have to close out these things that take my joy. So for any mother struggling with the internal battle of having both joy and anger for others during this chapter in their lives... you are not alone and it’s ok to not be ok.
.
.
.
Please anyone out there struggling make sure you have someone you can talk to or reach out to professionals and your doctor should you need it”

“Years from now this will be a small c-section scar but for now it’s a wound healing from complications I never saw coming. It’s nothing I’m ashamed of, nothing I will ever hate because it’s a reminder of my survival to be here for my sons.” — @ariana_n07

“For the #postpartumjourney that isn’t so normal. ⁣
⁣
I never thought I would use the word survivor to describe my #pregnancy but then again I never thought I would find myself bleeding out and having to hug my husband and son with the real thoughts that my goodbye might be the last. For the unspoken stories of trauma for what should be one of the most amazing exciting times of our lives this is for you. ⁣

Share your story, embrace your struggle because looking at this picture doesn’t bring sadness of things not going to plan but a reminder of how hard I fought to be ok and be here for my sons. I’m only 2 weeks postpartum and only 1 week home from the hospital but everyday I get stronger and better and everyday I’m so thankful to say we survived #birth in another country, during a pandemic, and alone. ⁣
