August was STACKED with IRL activities. From a photoshoot for an oil painting to meeting several of the authors of books I love, plus five events of my own, I feel like I fit a year into this month.

The Lindsay Clancy case has pushed postpartum psychosis into the headlines and I really don’t want us to waste the opportunity to understand it better. This week I’m joined by Ariane Beeston on Pod Like a Girl, psychologist and author of ‘Because I’m Not Myself, You See’, about her own experience of postpartum psychosis after the birth of her son.

Ariane knew something was deeply wrong when the doorbell rang and she found herself lying flat on the kitchen floor, convinced child protection had come for her baby. As the psychosis intensified, she believed she was dead, that she had always been dead and at one point looked at her baby and saw a dragon.

We talk about what psychosis actually feels like from the inside, why it’s so important for everyone to recognise the signs that something isn’t right and what recovery can look like.

This is such an important conversation about women’s mental health and how we can all be more active members of the village.

2026 Tresillian Conference:
Nurturing the Next Generation - The First 2000 Days.

Last Friday, I had the privilege of attending this fantastic conference - a day filled with learning, connection, laughter and plenty to reflect on. Oh and a touch of ABBA! 🎤

The two-day forum explored the importance of the earliest years of a child’s development and the profound, lasting impact they can have on health, wellbeing and outcomes throughout life.

Bringing together clinicians, educators, researchers and people with lived experience, the conference showcased research, innovation and evidence-informed practice.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn from others, explore new ideas and reflect on how we can strengthen the way that we support infants, children and their families.

I came away with lots to think about, and an even greater passion for the work I do.

Ultimately, it was a powerful reminder that supporting infants and young children starts with supporting the people who care for them. 🙏 @tresillianbaby

Life can fly by if you’re not paying attention, so I told myself I’d take note. And 2026 has been bloody grand so far.

Dance teacher training workshops, treatment milestones, lots of projects, dress ups, hair (always a win!), friends doing amazing things, learning and affirming, and a couple of surgeries… for balance, ofc.

I believe it’s time to say goodbye to the rock I’ve been living under 🪨🦞✨
