Over My Head I Hear Freedom In the Air
A celebration of the life and legacy of
✨Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon✨

“I was here before I came and when I die, I am not leaving” Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon

My life’s path was and continues to be shaped by her sound and teachings.

Thankful to my beautiful beloved sister @toshireagon and family for the blessing to learn and sing her mother‘s music with her and Sacred Sound ensemble and Parable of the Sower Opera fam.

Affirmation of assignment received.

So much gratitude for @wisereagonarts @lincolncenter @shantourage @meiyinwang @chrisdecamillis #thanasispsarros #ministajazz

There were so many more incredible offerings that I do not have video of.

Grateful to be in the presence of sacred royalty @_angeladavis1944 , The SNCC FREEDOM SINGERS: #RuthaMaeHarris and #CharlesNeblett, Tashawn Reagon, The Vinsons, Jessica, Sonjessa Folosade & Delores Johnson, @alexispauline @carlhancockrux & more beloved community, grateful for the love power on the stage, and in the house — thunderous voices of love into tomorrow rekindling focus, and reminded me yes, absolutely yes, we can continue to heal and help to shape change, Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon so generously left us multitudes of maps of how to do so, together.
