🌙Blessed new moon and solar eclipse dear friends! Here’s a snippet of our first single, You Are The Medicine, out today on Bandcamp and YouTube (links in our bio to hear/buy the full song). So much love has gone into this record it’s quite absurd. We hope your ears and hearts feel it as much as we do. Here’s a bit more about the track:

🌿 You Are The Medicine is a hymn to the healing power of our inner and outer natures, and a sung practice of naming our interconnectedness to all life. The lyrics are a creative interpretation of Mexican medicine woman Maria Sabina’s well-known blessing ‘Curate mi hijita’. Some of the words are a direct or poetic translation from the Spanish, whilst others have been newly created to honour the plant and animal beings here in our home habitats of the UK. This song paints these powerful words in sound, and hopefully offers a reminder of the strong healing available within and all around us at any given moment. 🌿

We’ve been gardening! Tending songs, melodies, harmonies and rhythms which have been growing within for a good while now, and are ripe to be recorded and shared. We’re so happy to be releasing our first single on bandcamp THIS WEDNESDAY 12th August. It’s called ‘You Are The Medicine’, which is appropriate as we all head to @medicinefestival later that day. This festival and the land at Wasing have been central to the birth of this musical encounter between us all, and we’re happy to be sharing a few songs at the Sound Temple stage as part of festival founders George and Moshe’s Medicine Family Song Circle on Thursday 13th - 2-4pm - gratitude! See some of you there! In the meantime, check the link in our bio to follow our bandcamp page, and tune in on Wednesday to have a listen. With love, TTG 🌻🌺🌸🌼🌿🌹🌙🌟
P.S. thank you to our dear friends @julia_gelpke and @beatrix_bliss for beautiful spaces to play and record this music 🙏🌻🙏

My weekly yoga classes are on hold for summer, but I'll be giving a long form yoga class accompanied by live music from Arjun on the 30th July in Dartington.

Arjun was born into a Bhakti tradition playing the Mridanga (Indian clay drum) in kirtan from a very young age.
Over the years he found a love for flutes, the kora and various drums and percussion and shares these instruments in therapeutic settings around the south west of England.

I'll be leaning into my love of yoga and music, weaving together my deep love of both practices

Ishka. Water. A new song, releasing on all platforms next Friday, 27/2. This is a deep one! A song for welcoming a newborn child, the braiding of ancestral rivers. A song invoking the blessings of ancestors, heart of the earth, and heart of the cosmos. A song, spark of soul-fire, of hope, honouring and remembering. I will share more over the coming days... 💙

Sharing here the translation, in part, of the proto-celtic lyrics to ISHKA, my new single featuring Ayla Schafer, taking wings this Friday on all platforms 🙏

Wenjâ ~ Welcome (to our clan, kin, family)
Kadjô ~ sacred
Øoutanjâ ~ newborn
Bîwo ~ breath of life

Ishka (Iskâ / Uisce) ~ sacred water, waters of life
Bawano ~ bring your blessings to this child
Ishka ~ sacred waters of life
Kombero ~ braided river in mystic form

I will translate the invocation section of the song in another post ✨

ISHKA is an honouring and welcoming song, blessing the birth of a new baby. The baby pictured in this reel is baby Ishka herself, this song's namesake and muse. Whilst in the womb, she inspired this song to its confluence, ready just in time for her own arrival earthside.

With thanks beyond thanks to Carolyn Hillyer for her book Her Bone Bundle, a compilation, translation, and immense honouring of ancient proto-celtic words; a huge inspiration for my songwriting.
