WOW. Shout out to my Bro @nineteen06 🤙🏾 for the call and opportunity to render music tonight as we celebrated Dr. @therealopallee 's 100th birthday and welcomed former First Lady @michelleobama to Fort Worth for a conversation 😀. I had an amazing time playing the VIP reception with the incomparable @armondvstrings 🎻 and Ahmad Johnson 🎷. We also performed the National Anthem and the Black National Anthem as we supported @ayoojarred 🎤 Awesome job Gents!!

I'm truly grateful to God for the gift and to wifey @mrsshunmarshall supporting me and being with me along the way.

To God be all of the glory!!

The cameras captured the celebration.

What they couldn’t fully capture was the feeling.

The pride when a father watched his son be recognized.
The joy of seeing scholarship recipients take another step toward their dreams.
The standing ovations for leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, storytellers, mentors, and changemakers whose impact continues to transform lives and communities.

For one night, the conversation shifted from what Black men are facing to what Black men are building.

Legacy.
Love.
Leadership.
Family.
Community.

This is the power of celebrating people while they’re still here to receive their flowers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 TheBlackManCan Awards unforgettable. A special thank you to our presenting sponsors, @wellwithall_ and @blkandbold , for helping us create a space where Black excellence isn’t just acknowledged, it’s honored.

The awards may be over, but the mission continues.

Creating. Curating. Amplifying.
