One year of running the river together🏃🏻‍♀️
.
To the moms who have showed up. Thank you. You have truly turned the last year into something special.
.
Some weeks, Ritz and I were still running alone but we knew if we were consistent the right people would find us. And y’all have.
.
We may be tiny, but we are mighty. We are driven mamas. We love our kids. We love carving time for ourselves into busy days.
.
We chat. We support. We don’t judge. And we truly just show up. And I couldn’t have a more full heart one year in. So cheers to one year and I can’t wait to see what else we can accomplish in the next year.

Training for a marathon while working a full time job + trying to keep up with your social life is definitely no easy feat 🫪 I keep reminding myself that this is hard because IT IS supposed to be HARD!

My workout split included:

Wednesday: Rest Day
Thursday: Cross Training & Tempo Run
Friday: Cross Training (peloton cycling & strength)
Saturday: Long Run
Sunday: Rest Day
Total Mileage = 35.5 miles 🫨

PS I'm training with @sacfitrun and @runna 🤸🏼‍♂️

💚 Thank you to everyone who made the Civic Engagement Resource Fair (CERF) a success! 💛
We’re incredibly grateful to the community partners, campus organizations, and departments who joined us to connect with students and share opportunities to get involved in our community. From voter engagement and civic resources to local services and student organizations, our partners helped make CERF a space for students to learn, connect, and take action.
Thank you for showing up, sharing your resources, and helping us build stronger connections between Sacramento State students and the Sacramento community. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🐝💚

what a night celebrating 50 years of the effie yeaw nature center at the golden jubilee gala!!🐿️🌷🪱🪲🍄‍🟫🪺

it meant so much to emcee alongside our amazing auctioneer keith and share why raise the paddle initiative is so personal to me. every paddle raised helps title 1 kids experience this place, sometimes seeing wildlife up close for the very first time, and feel like these spaces belong to them too!

being up there tonight felt so full-circle. as a chippewa cree woman, i was raised to see the land as part of who we are, part of our health, our stories, and our responsibility to care for it. effie yeaw is where i got to live those teachings as a kid. i was a camper on those trails, came back as a teen volunteer, and now i get to stand there as a school nurse caring for the next generation of sacramento kids.

thank you so much to rachael and jaclyn for having me and for all the love you pour into effie yeaw, and to everyone who showed up for the next 50 years of wonder ✨#nationalamericanmiss #namnationals #namnationals26 #namily #growingconfidence

What an honor it was to host the Outdoors for All Field Convening in Sacramento last Thursday alongside the California Natural Resources Agency! 🌲

We kicked things off with a tour of the American River Parkway Foundation's Outdoor Education Site, then gathered at Sacramento Valley Conservancy's Camp Pollock for a day of conversation about how we make California's outdoors truly welcoming and accessible for every Californian with sustainable recreation. A heartfelt thank you to Secretary Wade Crowfoot and Deputy Secretary for Access Gloria Sandoval for their leadership and support on this initaitive. Thank you to Dianna Poggetto and Jackie Hadley from the American River Parkway Foundation for giving us a tour and hosting us in the morning.

Special thanks to Jose Gonzalez, M.S for leading us through the mentimeter excercise and getting our brains jogging! Thank you to every speaker who shared their work on equitable access, including our local spotlights on the Sacramento Valley Conservancy with Executive Director Kelly Hopkins, Kaitlin Levenstrong and Galen Licht on the partnership between SeaTrek and Oakland Goes Outdoors, a powerful example of what equitable access looks like on the ground, and Sharon Sand speaking on behalf of Trust for Public Land's work and the ParkScore. Thanks for your work in making parks and green spaces more accessible for all Californians!

Special thanks to our sponsors including REI, Vans, HydraPak, California Outdoor Hospitality Association, Peak Design, SeaTrek, Houston Magnani and Associates, Touchstone Climbing, Rocknasium Climbing Gym, Patagonia, and Mammoth Lakes Tourism for making this day possible.

The energy in the room made one thing clear: the outdoor recreation community is ready to build an outdoors for all. Let's keep the momentum going into the next Governor's Administraion.

🌕 Our #moonshot idea for the next Administration is a Cabinet Secretary level position for #OutdoorsforAll that helps advise the Governor on how to incorporate the power of nature and human connection to it across all departments. We're talking Caltrans, Education, et al. #OutdoorsForAll

We participated in the Great American River Clean-Up with @brittreadsalittle and the Sacramento Audiobook Walking Club!

I finished listening to my book, Sunward, and picked up over 10lbs of trash! A great start to the weekend ☀️🚮

Yesterday the Sacramento Audiobook Walking Club partnered with the American River Parkway Foundation for the Great American River Clean Up Day!

We went to the Cal Expo/Ethan Way River Access to help clean up the area. I had never been there before and it was a beautiful trail! There were so many people that came (outside of our little group, too!) and the amount of trash picked up was a little insane 😳 but it was nice to be able to give back to the community that lets us walk in so many beautiful and well-maintained areas in Sacramento.

This was a great bonus walk and I’m excited to see everyone in Folsom next Sunday! 😉
