A new exhibition by Conor McFeely and Pascale Steven opens tomorrow at 7pm in Ráth Mór Business Park as part of Féile 2026.

Bringing together photography, video, sound, sculpture and found objects, the exhibition explores the subjective experience of apparition and its relationship to mysticism, supernatural phenomena and apocalyptic imagination.

The exhibition will then be open to the public on Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Tuesday 11th August from 12pm-4pm.

'water' è il video in loop realizzato per la mostra con @art.arcadia.ltd a seguito della mia residenza d'artista, nel 2019.

ho invertito il corso del fiume, e alterato la velocità, togliendo qualsiasi riferimento geografico. dove va, davvero, la corrente se già di suo cambia il corso due volte al giorno?

Derry Print Workshop are delighted to announce Memory Blocks by DPW member @m_a_r_a_ca. This is the culminating exhibition following a two month residency with @art.arcadia.ltd.

Art-packed Saturday night in Derry,
So good to move through so many spaces and conversations in one evening.

Starting at @guildhalltaphousestudios Winter Open Studios, great to meet @caradonaghey and @stephaniegaumond, see the amazing space they’ve created, and check out work in progress by @suemorrisart @marianwalker_irishart @rebecca.properly @sere.na.art @megandoherty.photo @justmegstudio @niall_mc_laughlin @garethsweeneystudio.

Then to @voidartcentre for another wonderful Void show, the launch of “I find myself”, brought to Derry by @viviana_checchia and curated by @gbelljones Gareth Bell-Jones. So much to absorb here, the work and legacy of pioneering and influential Barbara Steveni, who worked outside the gallery, creating multidisciplinary, research-based works that really were a precursor to what we now know as socially engaged immersive art (without the technology).

On to @ccadld for “IT’S NOT CLEAR FROM HERE”, a group exhibition curated by @ashleighlwilson in collaboration with Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive, featuring work by Thomas Hunter, @arrestings, and @lucytevlin, bringing together archival material and lens-based media to examine how images are shaped by time, technology, and perception.

Finishing with the Art Arcadia 10-year fundraiser party, brilliantly organised by @paola.bee, with DJ / VJ set by @automaticmodel and @vincent_ocallaghan. Hottest ticket in town with a sold out venue.

Really looking forward to my upcoming Artist in Residence slot with Art Arcadia later this year, and to contributing to and collaborating within this vibrant, inspiring community. Fab night — so good to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

The aim is to raise funds to help continue supporting artists across the city and further afield.

@vincent_ocallaghan & I will be digging into the record collections to soundtrack your evening. Nothing too hectic. We’ll be setting the tone in the background, while you relax and check out the space, catch up with friends and explore some of the visual pieces we’ll have on display.

'Finalmente, dopo anni, è arrivato questo libro, una vera e propria Bibbia per chi si occupa di fotografia e letteratura. Ho avuto modo di studiarlo mentre ero a #Derry, in #irlandadelnord ospite di @art.arcadia.ltd.
Grazie a questa esperienza è nato 'Literature & photography', uno dei corsi di Incontri di fotografia più longevi e di maggior successo nonché di grande aiuto per i corsisti che hanno partecipato, stando a quanto hanno realizzato durante il corso.
Il libro è fuori catalogo, e non è edito in italiano.
Una chicca usurata dall'uso del vecchio proprietario e dal tempo, che non vedo l'ora di ristudiare, toccandolo, anziché da fotocopie, scansioni e appunti.
In Italia, sono pochi i casi che studiano questa materia, anche a livello universitario e saggistico.
E peggio, a livello didattico, si riduce la questione a illustrare con le fotografie i testi letterari riassumendo la questione con un, ormai banalizzato, 'storytelling'. Non è così, la fotografia ha fornito modelli alla letteratura mutuando quelli letterari presistenti. Se, come diceva il mio relatore, 'conosciamo per immagini e pensiamo per storie', allora c'è molto di più e vale la pena approfondire, almeno provarci.'

Nel corso 'Literature & photography' faremo questo, certi che la materia è quasi inesauribile ma tenteremo di seguire alcuni percorsi topici che riguardano queste due discipline.

Non è solo e tanto questione di leggere e conoscere il canone occidentale ma di guardare con sguardo ampio gli strumenti tipici del pensiero e delle storie, allora forse sì che possiamo parlare con cognizione di storytelling.

@art.arcadia.ltd posted some really nice photos of the Walking Tour last Saturday - I thought I'd post a few more here too.

@jckod and I also put together an audio that accompanied the tour. We all popped our headphones on at the start and then there were six tracks, one for each venue, that we simultaneously pressed play on when we reached different points in the tour. If anyone's interested all of the tracks are on a final blog post on my page on the Art Arcadia website - I'll put the link in my bio. I enjoyed test listening to it while I was on the train to Derry, so if you have half an hour on a train and fancy something in the background, could be for you!

How can art be created in a city or country with increasingly limited physical spaces for art production and enjoyment? This is the challenge that my residency with @art.arcadia.ltd aims to address during over the next three-month, which will mirror the nomadic essence of Art Arcadia’s HEARTLANDS programme.

Drawing heavily from the DIY / maker movement, architecture, physics, and the dynamic interplay between natural and built environments, my installations will juxtapose these realms and highlight the points where they converge.

With the residency I seek to explore the relationships and perceptions of space and place, by designing new contemporary visual pieces that will be designed for projection mapping onto buildings, objects and spaces of interest, potentially using the locations in alternative and new ways. Bespoke node based visual design software, projection mapping technology and other bespoke tools will be used to achieve the residency objectives, which is to demonstrate that any location can serve as a vessle for creative expression, experimentation, and exploration.

The works will focus on live generative and code-based visual art. Several performances are scheduled to occur between February and April at three undisclosed locations across Northern Ireland. These locations may be disclosed on the day of the scheduled projection on the @art.arcadia.ltd socials, so following the Art Arcadia page is recommended if you’d like to potentially experience the projections in person.
