EVERY KNIFE OF 2025! . also a hook a sharpened crucifix a handful of bullets a five foot long sword . Most of these were made at my studio in Oakland but a few were made at @humanresourcesla . I love watching you hold a knife, you feel powerful, you look beautiful. I see it happen and we talk about it— so what is that power and that beauty? I know you’re not going out to stab someone. Often people say to me “oh no, I can’t hold one, I’ll probably break it.” Which is a sweet way to acknowledge it is precious. And a sweet way to acknowledge a delicate relationship with violence. (Which is also an ability to sacrifice, release, to draw a circle, to incise, to be gentle and careful, and to mean No.) (I heard echoing through the dream… reunited with, will never relent, choose what comes near…) we all know about waking up and everyone’s gone, frozen dirt dry grass and collapsed buildings, walking for days, a fluttering portentous angel owl singing about a sword, will it return life, love, justice to the land? will it lift the enchantment? She has a pinch of wool, crab claw, estrogen vial, abalone shell, ceramic toilet, human teeth, ram’s horn, lawn shears, obsidian, lead and tin, mostly glass, mostly broken bottles, bowls, vases, pots, plates, windows, cups, mirrors. they will end up buried, returned to brokenness, or in someone’s collection. But if you unravel the riddle, the prophecy, etc., you know the deal. 💜 . —it’s the big sword in the middle that has human teeth. —do you like the hook? Ask me about my Peter Pan fanfic🧚🏻‍♀️⭐️✨!! —I found a form that works for me and I’ve been repeating this style of artifact since 2019. I hope it’s still interesting to you, as it is to me💜. It’s time for the second leg of the raffle relay for incredible Thai Lu @littleom 🖤 Thank you @p34r.w34r for nominating me ❤️‍🩹 please help us by sharing widely with your networks. Thai Lu is a transdisciplinary artist, writer, and community organizer centering their practice on the social, cultural, and physical effects of chronic illness. As a chronically ill, disabled, autistic, and gender-divergent first generation Vietnamese American from a family of refugees, Thai works at the intersections of Western bio-politics, Southeast Asian diaspora, post-war intergenerational suffering, relational ecologies of interdependence, and the concept of metamorphosis. Thai is a severely immunocompromised cancer survivor, which means that because of the covid-19 pandemic, they cannot risk seeing doctors, therapists, specialists, and so cannot receive any regular treatment. Presently, they have severe ongoing skin infections, yet to be properly diagnosed or treated despite multiple previous interventions with medical specialists.
