THRESHOLDS I: THE SPACE BETWEEN WORLDS What if the way forward isn’t becoming someone new, but finding your way back to who you’ve always been? Lately, I’ve been thinking about the things that dim our light. The expectations, the judgments, the difficult experiences that make us question ourselves or feel like we need to become smaller to make other people comfortable. And I’ve been thinking about what it means to reclaim that light. When I make art, I don’t always know where I’m going. I begin with a feeling, follow the movement, and let the materials surprise me. I stop trying to control every outcome and start listening to what’s emerging. It’s a dance between resistance and surrender. Between what I thought something should be and what it wants to become. Maybe life asks us to do the same. To stop abandoning parts of ourselves just to be understood. To let go of the need to convince everyone of our worth. To keep creating, loving, growing, and becoming—even when the path forward isn’t clear. I’m learning that protecting my peace doesn’t mean dimming my light. That moving forward doesn’t require everyone to understand me. And that sometimes the best response to what tries to break your spirit is to nurture the very thing that makes you feel alive. This piece evolved through unexpected colors, shifting movement, and moments I couldn’t have planned. Looking at it now, I see a threshold—a passage into something unfamiliar, something possible, something not yet named. Maybe that’s where the magic lives: in the willingness to keep going without knowing exactly what comes next. I’m not here to become smaller. I’m here to see what else is possible. THRESHOLDS — an ongoing exploration of transformation, the unseen, and the spaces between worlds. Just show up, get a little creative, and see what happens. 🖤 A HUGE thank-you to Pherm Brewing @phermbrewing for having us, and to everyone who came out, made art, shared some laughs, and made last night so special. You made the magic happen! 🥹🖤 Missed this one?
