Clem describes his work as “real life changed into something different,” but his subjects often seem more non-fiction than fiction, despite the many ways in which they're transformed by his idiosyncratic style. It feels like we could find each of these very real people by walking a little way down the street: sitting in a front yard, on a stoop, shopping at the market, chatting in a coffee shop. "Egbert 'Clem' Evans: Extended Family" continues through April 18, gallery hours Monday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm. Link in bio

1. Untitled (Together) (framed), 2021, graphite on paper, 12 x 9 in, $165

2. Man with Cane (framed), 2023, graphite and watercolor on paper, 14 x 11 in, $180

3. Mr. John (framed), 2020, graphite on paper, 14 x 11 in, $170

4. In the Garden (framed), 2025, watercolor and ink on paper, 15 x 11 in, $180

We're so excited for "One Wicked Mime" opening soon at ArtYard in Frenchtown, NJ! Organized by ArtYard and @studioroute29 , "One Wicked Mime" brings together recent work by Dennis Quillin and Christian Turner (of Art Enables DC, and Studio Route 29 NJ, respectively), whose work is connected in its formal presentation and playful sensibility.

Quillin’s small-scale works on paper are pared down and soft - they feel like relaxed and relaxing renderings of what's around - a cup, a desk chair, or a butterfly, and perhaps also states of mind - reflection, in between, balance.

Turner's sculptural work appears to be generated in a highly energetic formal state--balance here is achieved after revision and play. At times, the works are props for, say, welcoming someone home, transferring a brain from one to another, or envisioned as a friend's new home, garage, or spaceship. Check out @artyardcenter for more info!
