All done with my Tour De Fleece. I joined my own team and just winged it. I must say, this was a nice reminiscing of my work. I also made a dent in my never-ending stash which is quite nice.

It was lovely to see everyone's spinning adventure during the tour.

I tagged everyone who created these wonderful fluffy goodness. The big skeins were from Freeda at Koomasee. No more social media or shop though.

The fumes from spinning is still up so I spin more things 🙃

Spun up these delightful skeins of different Merino fiber, both from @artifactsofappreciation. The darker and smaller one is Moorit Merino, and the larger lighter skein is a CVM, 13 micron Merino blend that I blended with Alpaca. Both skeins are soft and bouncy. I spun these continuous backwards with a 12:1 ration on my DT Lendrum. I think these two may be destined for a shawl. Maybe the #drkthrulines by @dreareneeknits.

Blending up the amazingly soft 13 micron merino / CVM from @artifactsofappreciation with 20 grams of alpaca. One single was spun as is and this never single will be this blend, then the two will be plied together. I’m going with a medium twist single and a low twist ply, hoping to get a soft bouncy yarn. This blend was inspired by @mellyknits Special fiber Advents.
I am finding the act blending of fibers by carding very calming and fills me with joy. This act is the perfect thing for closing out a year while preparing for the next. There is a reflective aspect to this action while I watch the fibers rhythmically come together as the drum carder goes round and round. The memories of the previous year guide my intention for the new one to come.

A trip down memory lane… a year of learning supported spindle spinning. Although I have been spinning for about 10 years now, last year at NY Sheep and Wool Festival I purchased my first supported spindle and have been spinning almost every day. I’m am grateful for all of the people who helped, supported and inspired me! I am also grateful for all of the talented people who created beautiful fiber preps and blend and the works of art that I have purchased to spin on. We are a wonderfully warm community!!!!
