As we collectively begin to define our relationship with emerging technology, I find it helpful to look at existing models of how we relate to artificial objects and systems.

When I designed my first prosthetic, I wanted it to be more than structural support. It became a vehicle for transforming my ability, an instrument for expressing emotion, ambition, and aspiration.

An object of intimate contact, capable of altering human capacity.

After spending the last five years working with machine learning systems, I’ve come to recognize this virtual tool as a similar kind of instrument. One capable of supporting, enhancing, and expressing human potential.

How we choose to adopt and implement AI in the design of assistive technologies will shape the next chapter of human embodiment.

🐚 Make appointments with creativity in your calendar (and keep them!)
🐚 Opt out of sharing data with mass models and create your own local AI from art you own and curate
🐚 It’s not about bypassing creativity, but pushing your creativity beyond your wildest imagination
🐚 We crave in person experiences that bring us together and ignite ALL the senses
🐚 Fun fact: there are more astronauts in the world than perfumers!
