When was the last time you did something for the first time?

A very special experience with @simone.sav this week as she brought me rowing in the beautiful 'Freya'

'Apurikotto'
Apricot Blossoms

Winter is behind us although you might not think so today! Looking forward to warmer weather and better times ahead. The arrival of the 'cherry blossom ' is a true sign.

Not all of the trees we affectionately call #cherryblossom are cherry. Many are plum, some apricot and there are others. As many do not fruit here in Ireland we don't realise.

Deeply imbued with symbolism and meaning the blossom represents fragility, beauty and preciousness of life.

wabi sabi

Beauty that is imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete, reflected in the philosophical idea of embracing beauty in imperfection, acceptance of change and fate as aspects of human life: thus we are strengthened and become more beautiful.

Mary Wallace: Celebrating Japanese culture in her "Precious Bowls" series. The 15th century art of Kintsugi became closely associated with ceramic vessels used for chanoyu. The artist uses the mediums of beeswax, egg tempera and gold leaf. Wabi-sabi represents beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent and incomplete". #wallaceworks #limelane #irishart
