The captivating beauty of a vintage hand mirror.. with intricate flora & fauna repoussé and elegant female forms on the handle, this mirror tells a story of nature, beauty and those who have looked into its reflection for years gone by 🖤🥀

Friday night and not cooking, not going anywhere… sat sitting on my sofa with my dog and a glass of wine 😄 yay!!!

I had a huge package arrive this week from the lovely Jasmyn @artofsoft_ The postie was intrigued! Jasmyn has such a great eye for treasures and this lovely old Dutch oil painting just called out my name.

The colours are so beautiful and the quaint old cottages just draw me in.

Looking forward to working in the garden this weekend. Need to get planting. Never seem to have enough plants… or enough hours! 😆 Happy Friday!!

Did you get the memo? We’re out with the new and in with the old.. this Edwardian sterling silver concertina purse, hallmarked Birmingham, 1907 featuring ornate repoussé detailing, and compartmented interior, proves that some things never go out of style 😮‍💨🖤

a recent Marketplace steal & I am OBSESSED 😍

managed to pick up this gorgeous old hutch with its original leadlight windows still intact!

if you know me, you know I'm an absolute fiend for old craftsmanship. I love dark wood grain, especially when it's mixed in with more modern decor, so this was a pretty exciting find.

I've just finished stripping back a previous repaint job to reveal the wood grain underneath, then gave it an antique oak gel stain & finished with beeswax to help protect it.

currently waiting on some hardware from Vintage Concepts (an amazing little store if you haven't checked them out!) to arrive so I can match a few pieces I found at a local op shop.

we're now down to just FIVE pieces of flatpack furniture left in the whare, which makes me ridiculously happy 😂 slowly replacing things as we find pieces we love, and I think I've finally found the hutch of my dreams.

what do we think?! 🤎

October wedding ready 🙌

A moment for the floral tapestry, seed-beaded evening bag c. 1930s - 1950s. It is in perfect condition & is exquisite!!
Cue the 'oh my goodness, I love your bag' comments. To which I will reply "thanks, its vintage"

Thankyou Jasmyn @artofsoft_ for finding the pieces to make one gasp and for helping me pull this vintage look together & lifting my celebrant game 🫶

Good morning! Sunday here and I wanted to show you my bedroom dresser top. The little photographic portrait c.1850s-1860s is of a sentimental moment between a mother and child. The back even has the photographers name and work place in Cheltenham! it’s all original and really draws you in. Quite hauntingly beautiful. ♥️
I need to do some research on the other items. All treasures to me. I can’t help myself when it comes to anything that has a history. ♥️

I spent a lot of time outside yesterday. Was so lovely to get stuck in. Couldn’t find my gardening gloves so best not to discuss my hands… 😆 Hope you have a wonderful day x

Hope your week has been going well. I don’t think Ive shown you this
little corner of the scullery before. I bought that darling little Edwardian Art Nouveau mirror/letter rack from the lovely @artofsoft_ It’s meant to be in an entrance hall but we seem to only be in and out of the back door, so here she sits. 😊🤎

This corner still needs some paint… but why not put everything in its place and get round to that another day? 😆 I will make a little curtain to hang over the front of the sink and under bench shelves. Add it to the list please 😉
Happy Thursday!! X
