It’s my Anniversary! 🎉🍾 I have been a member of the @artonoak artists cooperative for one year today, October 9th!

I think back to my interview day, when I was so nervous that my body was shaking like a leaf, and when I got the call I couldn’t believe it really happened. It was such a big and unknown opportunity that I didn’t know if I was ready for. But this past year has been amazing, and I have enjoyed every part of and never want to leave! I’m thankful for this blessing from God, and I look forward to more years to come. 🐴 Roslyn, Gentle Horse

I had to re-burn the Mt.Hood with lupin and balsam flower screen this week. The old screen was losing detail. This reel is just a small peek at what it takes to produce a print. I left out many steps—in part because I can’t take pictures in a darkroom of a lot of the things that I’m doing. I also left out the heat treatment step—every print has to be heat pressed for 30 seconds at 320 degrees Fahrenheit to set the ink. I wanted to share a bit of this process because people ask me and maybe this will help with visualizing what I’m talking about.

I’m part of an artist co-op in The Dalles @themakerspace97058 it is a collective space that has a weaving shed, glass work, wood working, pottery, etc. and provides space and equipment for artists that they may not have space for in their own studios or big equipment that they may not own. I’m able to burn my screens there—which is something I’m unable to do in my studio workspace.

Ten of these tea towels went to @artonoak this morning to the @gentlehorsecreations space (as this work is a collaboration between myself and Roslyn), the other towels will go to @applevalleycountrystore on Saturday and the purse will be heading to @hoodriverfarmersmarket this Saturday. As always please feel free to message me if you would like a tea towel or purse. We will happily ship anywhere in the US.
