She is my doll, she is my love

I created a project about anthropomorphism, where human emotion, character, interaction and fantasy is projected onto dolls (objects) and media. I set the scene of an apartment, where the audience can enter through the front door, and have a look inside. While sitting on the couch you can enjoy the tv playing self made doll commercials. The clay baby is resting in bed and is a reference to the ‘reborn doll’ which lonely and or grieving people use to replace human contact or to nurture a lost one. On the desk is my diary, open to read. Behind a fake wall I created the bedroom, where you can find me drawing in bed, a radio playing on the background and a fake simulation of a window. In this way I invite the audience to have a close look on how this lifestyle may unfold, and referencing my personal experience with loneliness. To counterpoint the sadness this topic holds, I created the doll commercials to transcend a sense of dark humor, it’s a reflection on how individuals deal with coping mechanisms. About the dolls spread around the house, this I moved directly from my own home, and displayed them as I do normally.

The Dance in Flow

This work explores the fascinating relationship between physical phenomena and human perception. Through the interplay of moving water and light, the work reveals a series of mesmerising visuals that appear to challenge the logic of what we see.

Both hypnotic and contemplative, the work offers a moment to slow down, observe, and experience the quiet beauty of a world that feels, for an instant, slightly beyond comprehension.
