Photos : @juliengremaud — What are the Reconnecting Protocols? 🌱🎨 These are works presented in the form of instructions that open up a space for discussion on ecological transition and the dialogue of living beings. They invite viewers, whether in theory or in practice, to interact directly with the other beings that inhabit the urban environment. During the (re)connecting.earth 03 Biennial exhibition, the artists created new instruction-based works that we displayed on informational panels at the Eaux-Vives train station and in Thônex. You can still see them at the Mich’line in Thônex through July 24, 2026! Photos : @juliengremaud #artwork #Geneva #instruction #reconnectingprotocols #artwerk

Art sometimes has the capacity to alter our perception simply by changing the scale at which we look at the world. Few materials seem as ordinary as sand. We walk on it, build with it, and shape our cities through it. Yet it often remains unnoticed, despite being one of the most extracted natural resources on Earth. Installed along the Voie verte in Geneva, Fragments: Tidal Memories by Jeewi Lee and Phillip C. Reiner invites us to reconsider this seemingly insignificant material. Commissioned by the Busan Biennale Organizing Committee in 2025, the work enlarges a single grain of sand collected between South Korea, Mallorca and New York more than a thousand times, transforming an almost invisible particle into a monumental sculpture. This shift in scale reveals an intricate topography shaped by geological processes unfolding over thousands, sometimes millions, of years. The grain becomes a landscape in itself. What interests me in this work is not only the question of resource extraction, but also its relationship to time. In a society often driven by acceleration and immediate results, the work invites us to engage with temporalities that exceed human lifespans and to recognize the histories embedded within the materials that surround us every day. Jeewi Lee's exploration of sand continues at Villa du Parc until September 20, where works created with sand directly applied onto canvas extend this ongoing research. Many thanks to the Busan Biennale Organizing Committee for commissioning the work, and to the Municipality of Chêne-Bougeries for making its presentation in public space possible. l’installation « CHART » interroge la classification du végétal et du minéral, alors même que ceux-ci sont constitutifs de l’espace urbain et de son identité visuelle et écologique. - The installation « CHART » by @etterspozio examines the classification of plant and mineral matter, even as both are fundamental components of urban space and its visual and ecological identity. The dispositif reproduces, at a 1:1 scale, the Munsell color chart—a color classification system developed in the early 20th century and still used for soil analysis-and takes the form of an observation table. Through the natural oxidation of steel, the artists create an evolving and non-reproducible color palette, highlighting the temporal processes of mineral transformation. In doing so, they propose an alternative way of observing these constructed landscapes. _ Photo I : @juliengremaud Photo II - V: @lauraspozio #etterspozio #munsel #nuancier #reconnectingearth #art
