Touring the Summit One Vanderbilt with IESNYC. An exclusive opportunity to experience presentations by Arup and Tillotson Design Associates. The behind the scenes of both One Vanderbilt, which is the tallest office tower in Midtown, and SUMMIT, an artist-led installation of lighting, mirrors, sound, and technology that “floats” visitors in the tower’s soaring vistas.

Event began with a presentation at the Roca Tile Showroom moderated by Michiru Tanaka & Jessie Grillo. Presentations from Tillotson’s Whitney Mire & Eduardo Zepeda followed by a presentation from Arup’s Tanner Chee and Brian Stacy.

We then made our way to this amazing site. Beautiful insight on how the design process started to the installation. We ended the evening with a cocktail at the bar at the top. Thank you IESNYC and all speakers for a wonderful evening.

A new place to experience music is taking shape at Tippet Rise. Designed by the multidisciplinary team at @arupgroup, the Geode is a remote outdoor POP-UP performance space composed of four acoustical structures, or “harmonic fragments” that contain sound and protect visitors from the sun and wind while preserving the wild feeling of the surrounding environment. This project builds on our long-standing partnership with ARUP, which included their work on the Olivier Music Barn and the Tiara Acoustic Shell. Learn more about Geode at: bit.ly/tippetrise_geode
