Aruwin Salehhuddin learned to ski before she could read.

Born in America to Malaysian parents, she became Malaysia’s first female Winter Olympian at 17, then returned for her second Winter Olympics in 2026.

With no national alpine skiing programme, her journey has involved self-funding, injuries, and financial challenges.

But she continues to represent a country without snow, proving that geography doesn’t have to define the size of a dream.

After a season full of challenges - especially fighting that stubborn knee issue - we finished the season. Despite the setbacks, @aruwin.sal kept fighting and still managed to improve her world ranking by more than 200 places.
Now it is time for a new chapter: more focus on college and balancing sports with academics. It was a pleasure working with you for the past 2 seasons. Wishing you all the best for what is to come.

DID YOU KNOW: The Philippines was the first tropical country to send a delegation to the Winter Olympics in 1972. Sorry it wasn't the Jamaican Bobsled team. 😅

P.S. Thanks to Tee/Tutu/22 for getting these songs stuck in my head during the Games! It had to be in the reel. 🤗
