many of my friends know i’ve spent the past year volunteering as the communications director of andre easton’s campaign. i’ve learned so much about how to take the brilliant ideas on his platform & use our media to amplify that message as widely as possible. it’s been transformative to learn from all the genius graphic designers, videographers, editors, writers, and photographers who make up the team. now, in this last month-ish we have of campaigning, i humbly ask that people turn out next saturday to give andre & the campaign team the financial boost needed to go hard asf on outreach before november 3!!

we’ll have raffle items, including but not limited to a typewriter, film cameras, printing lesson, and a very special surprise…! we’ll have tunez provided by boricua baddies @djraqx & @bojaq_ !!

Last night, we held the final class of “People Vs. Billionaires,” our free 5-week political education series for Socialist Summer School. We marked its conclusion with the class “Building A Socialist Society” led by Tanya Núñez.

All summer, we essentially asked one question: how do we transform society in favor of the needs of the working class? Our answer has been straightforward…through organization. We know clearly that when we organize, we win. We launched this series conscious that the system is at an unprecedented breaking point. Capitalism’s dead-end logic is on full display, but so is the resurgence of working-class struggle.

We learned that we have everything we need to build a new and socialist world. We have the productive capacity, the resources, the science, and more. What’s been missing is the collective power to put our developments to work for all of us, instead of for the profit of a few. Tanya made it clear for us, socialism is not a distant dream but an immediate possibility. The only question that remains is how will we organize to bring about that possibility?

I am truly humbled by the amount of shit I don’t know, but the challenge of lifelong learning is one I hold dear to my heart & sense of purpose.

I have so many teachers. Thank you, to all of you 🤍

In Brasil, I interacted with the world more consciously than I had in a while. I was a student in school again, with the opportunity to be open like a child on a beautiful campus with another group of passionate and dedicated people to the cause of liberation.

Reading in my favorite hammock outside. Walking barefoot in grass every other day. Watching the moon turn her faces until she was full. Eating sweet berries straight off of trees. Staring at mountains and skyscrapers, in awe at God and mankind’s greatness.

Being given timely company from animals. Receiving kindness from others just for being a fellow human, linguistic and cultural differences aside.

I appreciate the reminders of our incredible capability & potential as a species, every time ❤️‍🔥

Paulo Freire said, “Dehumanization, which marks not only those whose humanity has been stolen, but also those who have stolen it, is a distortion of the vocation of becoming more fully human. This distortion occurs within history; but it is not a given destiny, it can be transformed.”

I believe that we can be transformed.

They can’t kill the ideas, the global passion project, the vocation of the human spirit ❤️‍🔥
