Iโ€™m not a big fan of 10โ€s unless they bring something cool to the turntable. As Friends Rust - The Fists Of Time I Dig the artwork by singer Damien Moyal and the album opener โ€œHome is where the heart achesโ€ gets straight in your face. Released on Goodlife Recordings in the late 90โ€™s, atypical for a band that didnโ€™t sound like an edgemtal band given the label major succesโ€ฆ #asfriendsrust #goodliferecordings #thefistsoftime

It's more a compilation with (at that time) harder to find songs from releases that were out of print and still are. It's a great introduction to @asfriendsrust if you want something on vinyl from them and it's still available. @shieldrecordingsnl @notdamiendone #asfriendsrust #greatesthits #hardcore #vinyl #vinylcollection

I guess the first song title says it all: We On Ome Next Level Shit. Everything is just better on this album: songwriting, vocals, production,... Both big fans from Culture and Morning Again he listened to it and told me it was really different and not really his thing, especially that first song. I was sold from the first second and As Friends Rust became one of my favorite bands ever. The first song was recorded 2 years after the other and is less hardcore and more emo/punk. The other 4 songs still have a hardcore feeling to it and Damien still screams like he was in Culture (he was at that time). @asfriendsrust @notdamiendone #asfriendsrust #hardcore #emo #vinyl #vinyllove

On this day, September 25, 1976, Damien Moyal was born. If you followed Florida hardcore in the โ€™90s, you heard his voice across Culture, Morning Again, Shai Hulud & As Friends Rust. He moved between bands & sounds, but always sounded unmistakably like Damien. Happy Birthday to one of the voices that helped define that era of hardcore. Salute! #damienmoyal #floridahardcore #90shardcore #morningagain #asfriendsrust @gold_school_records

On this day, September 17, 1999, As Friends Rustโ€™s self-titled EP reached U.S. record stores via Doghouse Records. Five songs in under twelve minutes, pressed on CD & an unusually sized eight inch record. Damien Moyal & company knew how to put melody into a song w/out softening the punch. The EP had already appeared in Europe that summer. September 17 marks the U.S. retail arrival of the Doghouse edition. Give โ€œHalf Friend Townโ€ another spin. Salute to another Gainesville band! #asfriendsrust #halffriendtown #doghouserecords #melodichardcore #gainesvillehardcore

On September 25, 2026, our album Tales of Tragedy will be released as a DIGITAL DELUXE EDITION โ€” featuring revamped artwork, a new tracklist, and something youโ€™ve never heard from our songs before: instrumental versions of the entire album! The Digital Deluxe Edition includes a total of 20 tracks: 1. Devil In The Darkness 2. We Are One (An Ode To Murder) 3. Ocean Grave 4. Suffer In Silence 5. The Demon King 6. Already Dead 7. Insomnia / Paranoia 8. Words Of Separation 9. They Come At Night 10. One More Day 11. Devil In The Darkness (Instrumental) 12. We Are One (An Ode To Murder) (Instrumental) 13. Ocean Grave (Instrumental) 14. Suffer In Silence (Instrumental) 15. The Demon King (Instrumental) 16. Already Dead (Instrumental) 17. Insomnia / Paranoia (Instrumental) 18. Words Of Separation (Instrumental) 19. They Come At Night (Instrumental) 20. One More Day (Instrumental) Just like the original version of the album, all songs were once again produced and mixed by our longtime collaborator Phil at Mixing Mine. Editing duties were handled for the third time by the incredible Douglas Hammarstam. The entire Digital Deluxe Edition was once again mixed and mastered by Stephan Hawkes at Hawkes Studio. And of course, the guest appearances remain unchanged: The legendary Damien Moyal (Morning Again, ex-Shai Hulud, As Friends Rust) delivers a truly spine-chilling moment on one of the tracks, while Dane Evans (To The Grave) brings an absolute powerhouse performance that adds pure chaos and devastation to the song. Our longtime friend Hagen Petschat (Birth Struggle Death, ex-Ruins of Perception) also contributes a guest appearance. The revamped artwork was once again created by Hans Transit of Disartdesign.
